It's not like I have ever seen a 7-11 with a lounge area

you serious? there are plenty. there's one in Shinjuku between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and Shinjuku West Exit.

where is the proof?? these boys are probably innocent. could've been a coverup by the pizza FREAKS who pocketed the money and claimed they got robbed. happens a lot, especially pizza joints with foreigner delivery staffs.

Posted in: NHK denies not inviting Korean acts to 'Kohaku' due to territorial dispute See in context

NHK has allowed dozens of Korean acts on its Music Japan show throughout 2012, it's not like they're blacklisting Koreans. the Korean Wave has died down and KARA and Girls' Generation were duds this year (their sales have dropped off considerably). Tohoshinki are now irrelevant to anyone who's not a 40-something housewife in a sexless marriage. and the rest of the nobodies K-Pop Inc was trying to shove down the throats of the Japanese public have died off.

Posted in: 'Gangnam Style' becomes YouTube's most watched video See in context

Relative to whom, may I ask? Seems he's talented enough to have hundreds of parodies, marching bands at half-time play his song, major artists not only welcome him but imitate him, etc. You want to talk talentless, look no further than the mirror, then stop being jealous.

uhh, how do any of those these mean he has talent? I still am not seeing any talent in terms of singing, rapping, dancing, etc. he's honestly probably even worse than those lame boybands JT tries to push on us. at least they can do actual choreography. Psy is a joke and this is the Macarena of the 2010s, just deal with it.

The guy is not some Johnny's hack group like SMAP, who cannot play any instruments, cannot write their own music, cannot dance, and cannot sing

I guess he can write his own inane raps but he can't do any of the other things... he's talentless. no vocal talent, no dancing ability, not attractive and he's a one-hit-wonder so just get over it and move on. even Bieber can kinda sing.

this is kind of dumb. iOS only operates on one phone made by one manufacturer, while Android is only literally hundreds by dozens and dozens of makers.

Posted in: Jetstar Japan reprimanded for lax safety checks See in context

has anyone here actually flown with Jetstar? I have and they were horrible. their pilots were changing altitudes so fast that it caused one passenger's eardrum to rupture on my flight. they also had incredibly lax security procedures when boarding, they took us on a bus on the tarmac and people were just walking around drinking beer the whole time. shut them down.

Posted in: New Google smartphone sells out See in context

No question that the Optimus G is a better phone than the S3 hands down, but the things that were removed from it to make the N4 meet Google's price target make it lesser than the S3 overall as far as I'm concerned (I will never buy another phone with nonremovable battery - ran out of power far too many times while traveling - curses to hotel rooms which automatically switch off power when vacant).

there was nothing "removed" to make it fit Google's price target. no Nexus device has a removable battery or microSD slot (do you seriously think either of those would somehow add to the price?). but the things that make the Optimus G a higher spec phone than the Galaxy S III (the display and the chipset) are very much part of the Nexus 4.

Posted in: New Google smartphone sells out See in context

Specs-wise the S3 IS much better, but this is a Nexus device, which means that new versions of Android will support it from day one of release, not months later and subject to the whim or economic model of the mobile carriers.

actually the Samsung Galaxy S III has worse specs than Nexus 4 and the LG Optimus G which it's based off. not by much, by it's still lower. the Optimus G/Nexus 4 (same phone basically) have faster processors, better cameras, and higher resolution displays.

Posted in: Samsung sells 30 mil Galaxy S III smartphones worldwide See in context

Galaxy S III was the best phone on the market, but it's been overtaken by quite a few others (Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx HD, LG Optimus G, Google Nexus 4, etc.). Even the Sharp Aquos Xx Zeta has higher specs.

Second, for those who think Psy is a one hit wonder, he's been around for 10 years and was already a household brand in Korea. Just because someone isn't popular internationally doesn't mean that he/she is unpopular.

PSY was generally unknown to the Korean public until his latest album, actually. get a clue.
