This habitual action by new single mothers in japan shows a great lack of respect of newborns and a lack of urgency to offer assistance by the Japanese government at all levels....which is quite disappointing as the number of newborns here dwindles annually....

I agree with you Peter14 , however some of these Pacific Island leaders will be won over by Chinese Gov't as millions of bucks are promised to them....so unfortunately Money/ Greed talks...everything else walks...

Since Hawaii's state Governor was here last month to try and push the govt to relax covid restrictions and increase Japanese tourists back to Hawaii , it's no wonder that 6/7 Americans allowed in from the USA are from Hawaii state and not other areas of USA...Japanese tourists spend the most in Hawaii...way more tnan mainlanders in Hawaii...so Business as usual...money talks, everything else walks...

The covid situation allows us to vividly view cultural differences by govts and peeps around the world....

In japan it's lots of talk and little action. Raising the "alert level" has little impact on peoples behavior and business as usual for the most part as the Summer Games must Go on....

......And to all this I say by japan copying in order to make their own culture is quite sad. This is just helping to lead to the demise and downfall of this country's own history / culture. It's no wonder that young Japanese don't know or are losing interest....

Unfortunately many more of these disasters will occur in Tokyo due to negligence of drivers who rush through red lights or who fail to stop at the white line in front of many crowded crossings in Tokyo and J cops rarely monitor these moving violations.

Here is the big question for the J gov't...do we do a "lockdown" again to decrease the infection numbers at the expense of our economy or do we carry on as we have been at the risk of our health? I'd vote to do the latter like Hawaii did.

too many stories recently of unappreciative offspring unjustly forcing a parent to the next world due to stress and mental instability in a society where little outside help occurs. Not looking forward to more stories like this.
