Posted in: Bullying keeps youth suicides high in Japan See in context

Did I just read that teachers participated in a mock funeral for one of their students?

Where do I throw up?

..........And I promised myself yesterday I wouldn't read the news from now on........

Suicide is such a selfish act and extremely traumatic for all those involved. My brothers high school friend chose to take his life, father found his body, had a heart attack and passed away right there in front of his wife. A woman who just witnessed the only two men in her family die. Horrific.

So it frustrates me that people in this country choose to do it so publicly and dont think or care about the driver or any of those who happen to witness it, including kids at the station.

If gun laws were tighter, you think the 8 year old would still be alive? Maybe the incident wouldn't have happened at a school and without a ballistic weapon.

If they were relevant to anything they would have stepped in when Fukushima happened...forcefully instead of letting Japan say it is a Japanese problem when it is a mankind problem.

When first coming here it was a little off putting but now I wear a mask when I have a cold out of respect for others or when the air is really dry. "...was some sort of terrorist operation in place" shows the level of paranoia and fear is the world today. The entire planet is becoming so xenophobic and THAT is the scariest and saddest thing ever since the war on terror started. People are bringing the terror to themselves through fear.

@JeffLee There weapons all around you. To have access to weapons all someone needs to do is go to the kitchen. Remember the soldier in UK killed with meat cleavers in 2013? Most western homes have one of those so anyone has weapons.

Need to get my eyes checked... I'm reading this as THREE years. Makes you wonder, which is a worse human being; a man who stupidly and neglectfully kills a child or the scum who only gives that killer 1095 days in prison. I say the latter. Put them both in prison for much longer.

Always like to "be safe" in the face that a missile can be shot down before it reaches its target but then I think about last year when NK announced they were testing a missile. Japan said we are ready... and they didnt even know a missile had been fired. It was on cnn before they knew about it. Gulp.
