A lot of good that study does us. In a related study, researchers have found that Big Foot may exist. Or not. Because they're not sure.

No rubbing of the genitals in prison?- where there's a will, there's a way, otherwise the whole place would be overthrown and destroyed by epically uptight and frustrated rabid dogs!

So long as people believe in organizations like NATO, the IMF, and the UN, the American way shall continue.

The jig's up, folks. This ain't no government. This here be a police state governed by the elite who will use every opportunity to further its gains by tightening its control over normal, hard-working citizens. And you thought it was a democracy diligently working to further the lives of ordinary folk like they taught you in school, a school whose system was set up by Rockefeller and JP Morgan. FOOLED AGAIN.

Wondrous news. One step closer to a drone/dysfunctional society.

Posted in: Schwarzenegger reveals he had child with staffer See in context

Let me ask you something- do you have affairs with people in your house while you are married to someone else? Got another one for you- Do you like to grope women who are your subordinates at work, and then laugh in their face because you know they can't do anything about it? I couldn't give a rat's ass whether it's about a politician or a homeless guy, simply having affairs (not necessarily a bad thing in all cases) isn't really the point.

Yeah, but getting plastered in a club with a bunch of rowdies and getting friendly with fellow men doesn't compare with being fully cognizant and banging someone in your own home under the nose of your wife.

It wouldn't be a big deal if they weren't always the ones harping on about 'family values', and how immoral and loose liberals are.

Is anyone actually surprised? Anyone who's been to frat parties and is familiar with jock culture could see this type of thing happening miles away. The French dude just goes to show that the moneyed classes aren't too different when comes to using your position to take advantage of others.

If true, not surprising, as this is what the IMF does to other countries on a regular basis.

Often these girls are "encouraged" to engage in certain extracurricular activities in order to raise their standing in the gravure world. Saying she wasn't able to find true love could be code for having become thoroughly disillusioned after becoming used and exploited.

Posted in: Is U.S. military relief effort Operation Tomodachi really about friendship? See in context

If you get to know a variety of Japanese people across a broad economic and social spectrum, you'll find out that their silence (including their view of America and its military bases) does not indicate being "happy with what you're doing"

If they're even gonna complain when given humanitarian assistance, may as well up and leave them to fend for themselves. No point sticking around if you're not appreciated.

Last year a Japanese man went to South Korea, lost tens of thousands at the tables, then leapt off of the casino/hotel (7 Luck Lotte Hotel) to his death. Guy just couldn't stop himself.

Posted in: Chinese man appeals death sentence for 116 rapes See in context

Face it, rape is a big taboo, and as such, holds an irrestible allure for those into breaking rules. I even once had a girlfriend who sometimes got some kinda rush from feigning to be raped during our lovemaking. Everyone knows it holds a prominent place in pornography, and may factor into the human psyche in some very basic, primal way that a lot of us are uncomfortable admitting. Is there a huge divide from this part of consiousness and wanting to have someone you see on a train? The actual implementation of taking action to realize this fantasy is a big step, but we all have "impure" thoughts.

Have to admit I could never understand the point of mummifying oneself while still living, seems even more egotistical in its "holiness" than someone like Donald Trump raising money for a charity

How about considering an alternative to all-out consumerism...less trinkets and vanity time, more substance and quality times.

"since they can donate 50% why not just give out half of the hotel rooms for free to the evacuee families"

It's the Hyatt, for cris'sakes, not a friggin' shelter. Next thing you know, people'll be suggesting that elite families ought to work towards creating a more egalitarian society.

Posted in: Gunmen kill 56 in grisly Iraq hostage siege See in context

@SuperLib "Iraq is so much better off without Saddam. Disagreement with that is just choosing sides and not being true to the facts."

So easy for you to type those words into a keyboard. Try talking to an Iraqi refugee family (who make up part of the 4 million who have been displaced by the war)whose patriarch was killed in the conflict. With no breadwinner (Iraqi women traditionally remain at home)the family is left to scrape by on their own or with other families living a miserably precarious hand-to-mouth existence.
