Am I the only one who thinks these women do not epitomize the original meaning of Nadeshiko....don't take my word for it, from wiki *" Yamato nadeshiko (やまとなでしこ or 大和撫子?) is a Japanese term meaning the "personification of an idealized Japanese woman",[1] or "the epitome of pure, feminine beauty".[2] It is a floral metaphor,[3] combining the words Yamato, an ancient name for Japan, and nadeshiko, a delicate frilled pink carnation called Dianthus superbus, whose kanji translate into English as "caressable child" (or "wide-eyed barley").[4][5]**
Obviously, this isn't a beauty sport, but perhaps a name with more chutzpah like the "Iron Maidens", would be more reflective of how they look and could also strike fear into opponents, especially if they enter the stadium WWF style while Iron Maiden blasts in the background.....Japanese female wrestlers command respect worldwide you know!
