The article says one reason this happens is because the mothers were abused by their own parents. It doesn't say what type of abuse but it's not farfetched to think that the best and maybe only sure fire way to protect the children from for instance the grandfather abusing her too would be to give up the baby. Hopefully their foster system isn't as full of abuse as the U.S. one is.

It's time to think outside the box.

Japan should sell Takeshima Island to Ukraine and Ukraine could pay for it with crowdfunded donations and then as a Pacific Island nation, Ukraine could join the new Pacific Alliance with Japan. Russia only made Ukraine joining NATO the red line. They never said anything about not joining the new Pacific Alliance. Of course, before Putin starts crying again it would be pointed out that Russia would also be cordially invited to join the Pacific Alliance since they are also on the Pacific Ocean. Then since members of the Alliance cannot attack one other the war would be over.

It's time to get serious and send them some mecha warrior machines but Ukraine will have to provide their own trained schoolgirls to operate them.
