I heard from my colleagues that such dual pricing is seen in Thailand's temples...at last Japan has become such a country.
Japan's future is doomed; another harbinger for where this once great country is headed. I may as well pack my bags and move to Thailand.

Ah, Suzuki Muneo. He never fails to entertain us with his antics. After returning to Japan, he was questioned with regards to his comments, made while in Russia, that "Russia will win the war in Ukraine". Apparently, he mentioned the word "cease-fire" as a crucial component of Russia's victory, with the word supposedly having being "omitted" by the Japanese media. This clown needs to mind his own business.

Kudos to とにかく明るい安村. His comedic act may be silly, perhaps even infantile, but to do what he did takes courage and determination. In a world that has become increasingly sensitive and pc, he reminds us that it is ok to laugh at the absurd. For all the naysayers out there, don't worry.....he will soon be half-forgotten, just like that other one hit wonder PPAP Pikotaro.

Has political correctness gone too far in Japan ? I think not. While some may decry the faux pas of people like Peter Vlaming, there was a time back in early 平成 (Heisei) when Japanese game shows would show topless women on prime time TV for ostensibly "educational" purposes. Obviously, this would be unthinkable now. Just think of the feminist backlash.

It is a really stupid political move by the Japanese officials.
No self-respecting democracy would remain "neutral" after such a heinous invasion of a sovereign country. 141 countries condemned Putin's invasion. And "neutral" would clearly align Japan with China's CCP. Is that really a viable option in the current geopolitical climate ?

I'm more surprised they haven't invaded Hokkaido yet...
I'm sure mad Vlad has enough on his plate at present. If reports are to be believed, Putin has his sights set on Moldova, the Baltic states and Finland. Stalin may have been denied Hokkaido, but that was way back then. Let us hope it doesn't come to that.

Let's hope China does help. Still, the US could have prevented this...
The only "help" that comes from China is the kind that benefits its own ends. Putin is proving to be a disappointment to Xi for failing to "get the job done".
I'm no fan of Biden, but you may as well say that the Russian people could have prevented all this if they hadn't grown complacent and accepted "strongman" Putin as their dear leader for all these years.

There. I fixed the title.
Funny how the nefarious CCP initially expected a quick Russian victory in Ukraine, but then backtracked in the face of international condemnation and unexpected Ukrainian resistance to the invasion. Whoops.
"China is ready to make its own constructive efforts in maintaining world peace...and promoting development and prosperity." Yeah, whatever. All the while refusing to criticize Russia. How convenient.

@OreiO Perhaps I did miss your point. Japanese media lebelled the match as 残念, 頑張った (Too bad, Well done and you did us proud.) I personally don't think there is any negativity at all. Latest news from NHK: "The best result ever." Fujisawa herself: "I felt disappointed but I think we did well." A former Japanese curler, Miyo Ichikawa, said in an interview that she had nothing but respect for the team.
Kudos to Fujisawa, the two Yoshidas and Suzuki.

Congratulations to the British team. No doubt they're relieved to not only clinch the gold, but to also win against the very team that beat them four years ago.
And as for Japan, they did one better than before which is an achievement in itself. They can hold their heads high and be proud that curling has been recognized through their achievements.
Unfortunately this will be deemed somewhat of a failure...by Japanese media
No, it won't. Japan has more than proven itself in the women's speed skating. The advantage of being runner up is that you can still be expected to achieve future glory.
''Yurika Yoshida hugs Hailey Duff'' Now, that's what it's all about; respect among athletes.
