Posted in: Uber launches taxi-hailing app in Nagoya See in context

Uber works great and is very popular in countries where taxi services are expensive and of poor quality. Here in Brazil, an Uber ride costs one-third of a regular taxi. Wonder how cheaper it would be in comparison to the excellent Japanese taxi services

So, why is it that you don't see American cars on Japanese streets while the sight of Japanese cars on American cities are so common? Flawed rhetoric...

Posted in: Police step up search for missing French woman in Nikko See in context

Coincidentally in the last 3 months it’s the third French person who gets lost in woods- two of them in Brazil and Japan., One, this week, was found safe and sound after 6 days. The other fell into a cravine, his body recovered after 15 days. Hope this third one is found alive and well. I don’t know this region of Japan, but isn’t it the same location where an American student disappeared some 15 years ago, without a trace?

We desperately need to get rid of one-time plastic products. People will get used to it. Just like when seatbelts were introduced or smoking was made unhealthy, users got angry in the short term, but after some time they realize it’s good and get used to it.

Stunning match. High quality football is what we saw. Now, that Mbappe guy, he's a Bolt with a ball on his feet, what an extraordinary player. Now, I am rooting for Japan. It will be THE event of this World Cup if Japan beats Belgium.

Posted in: Japan booed as it advances on yellow cards despite losing to Poland 1-0 See in context

I just read in NYT that Japan is the only country outside Europe/Latin America that reached the 16 best ones. It makes the Nishino’s decision even more correct that we thought. I do hope Japan make at least the final 8. Once again, congrats to the Japanese team.

I didn't watch the game (working time), but playing soft in the last matches, when results are known is a practice in every sport. See almighty England with just two main players against Belgium (or so I read), while Belgium itself with just one - the rest from the benches. I am quite happy that Japan is learning the ways to the next stage. It was not its fault, it belongs to the way Fifa has designed the tournament. Congrats Samurai Blue. You are doing good!! (Better than Germany, Italy, USA and South Korea lololol)

Posted in: Brazil ethanol sales to Japan to sputter as Tokyo bends to Trump See in context

One key point is missing in this article, one that should environmentalists change their perception on “clear” Brazilian ethanol: while its car emission is much cleaner than gasoline, Brazilian sugarcane producers burn the remains of the harvest in a fire so huge that it zeroes any environmental gain output. This fire is so toxic, it is done hidden in the middle of the night and causes cities nearby to suffer an ash rain that pollutes everything, and populations near the ethanol plants use millions of gallons of water to clean up the mess. Of course, this is all omitted from Brazilian gov’t selling “clean” ethanol abroad. So, in the end, US ethanol may be cleaner that it’s Brazilian version.

It’s a movie that goes “if you’re black you have to watch it, or you’re a sucker! If you’re white, you’re a sucker anyway. But go watch the movie to show you’re not a racist”. And voilá! It’s not a good movie, it’s a political statement. Boring modern times.

Apple is not a political party, it's a company that has to respond to its shareholders. People blaming Apple are shooting the messenger here. Also, let's not forget that the Chinese political system is a fruit of wild popular support by this generation's parents and grandparents in the past. Did you want communism and a full control of your lives by the state? Now you have it, my yellow friends

I think it has nothing to do with inclusion. It is just a good time movie, that is it. People are being way too extremists about inclusive. I read on Twitter a comment like this "I hated going to watch the movie and seeing white people down the line". I mean, what sort of inclusion of its this??
