China was quiet because they were in a very bad shape and they needed help. And Japan was the most generous country to them. you don't bite the hands that feed you, right?

About the war atrocity, its established through the Tokyo Trials, I think the Japanese goverments, diplomatically, never denied that, but you also can't stop people from having different opinions, this shouldn't be a foreign concept unless you grew up in country like china, where government dictates everything, or you have some other agenda.

"Ask Germany how it treats its deniers if you want to pull the freedom of speech card. Well done protesters"

Ask these Chinese if they can do this in their home country. Well done the police who protected them from the right wingers harassment.

Posted in: Restaurants: The next front for the U.S. immigration debate? See in context

"There ARE jobs that Americans won't do for the wage that is offered. However they WOULD do them for higher salary. "

and the cost will rise 'bigly', and the restaurants go belly up one after another, espeically in today's economics. it's a far more complex problem than immigration itself.

the other guy was right, america (and the western world in general) have been living beyond their means for far too long. and they are stagnant while the other countries like the BRIC are catching up and gradually taking their lunches.

the illegal immigrants, however how you despise them, they are the main reason you can still (somehow) maintain your lifestyle because they are willing to work for survival.

Posted in: China upset at name change of de facto Japan embassy in Taiwan See in context

@harajuku_press Taiwan in 1980s was still ruled by the Chinese nationalists, who retreated to Taiwan after the civil war and still had the dream of reclaiming mainland from the communists, however how ridiculous it sounds. These guys also crushed any attempts for independence by the local population without mercy. However for the decades they have been slowly dying out, as the self awareness is ever growing among younger generations, and the Taiwan and China relation is evolving from a family feud toward two strangers.

The user "reviews" on amazon is a long time joke in both Japan and the US, mostly trolls or just people venting off their buyer remorse. I doubt any video game publishers would care about them.

The entire purpose of this is to check the ever growing Chinese influence in global trade, if America is out, then there's nothing could break the status quo. Japan should expedite the talk of the free trade zone with China and Korea.
