Not only will the pandas pay for themselves but 10 x over. However, not sure about conditions. It will do absolutely nothing to mend relationships. Purely for money.

Posted in: Egypt freezes Mubarak's assets See in context

The arabic media, during the protests, were reporting on why mubarak was taking so long to step down. Many were saying he was buying time. I wonder where he and his ministers hid most of their money.

Im still faxing my monthly report sheet that has the stamps on it to head office. I predict robotic pigions for sensitive material that cant be detected by radar.

This is one main reason there are trrorists in this world. They feel hopeless. The world wants one thing but a super power says no. Shame on the UN and shame on america (im talking about the few who are in power and control the masses) . Im really starting to wonder if anyone is really free.

tkoind2, im afraid you are wasting your time. Hollywood has brainwashed the masses and unfortunately you are falling on def ears. These people cant see the horror that happens daily in their own backyards (for example, just watched opera last night and the rape on these young girls by their own brothers/father in Kansas and 10 more family came out after the news broke), but fear something that happens, what, once or twice in the last 100 years on US soil.

Jason, I think white day is meant to give something in RETURN if someone did give you a valentine chocolate/gift. As for the gift being a rose, um, definitely jealousy.

it's not an obligation in the area i live in. I think they are mistaking the obligation part with the souvenir tradition.

Stove in Japanese English = heater by kerosene. @Laguna electric heaters these days are great especially in small spaces such as outside the shower room. Kerosene gives me a headache within 5 min especially if it is in a small room (so for bathrooms, definitely an electric).

I wonder about the ethnic/religious background of 70% of the hot shots in Hollywood. That should give you one clear idea for those who are wondering the reasons/why Muslims are portrayed that way.

What amazes me the most is the amount of posters calling for the biblical punishment of "an eye for an eye" and are the same posters who condemn other nations for having such mid-evil mentality. The hypocracy! BTW, I am all for some sort of "an eye for an eye" punishment.

Understand this people: "One of the biggest fears of protesters is that if Mubarak or his close confidant Suleiman remain in power, they will exact revenge for the humiliating demonstrations by rounding up protesters and torturing them. Many protesters have reported seeing undercover security forces in the crowds every day, photographing the demonstrators with cell phone cameras."

It says a lot! The egyption people have had enough of the corruption and dictatorship supported by u know who! Even though they are 1000´s of miles away, egyptions all over the world have one thing in common, and that is to relay the message that they have had enough. They want to be truely free of that tyrant.

A European style democracy will never ever be in the Middle east or other parts of the world simply because of difference of views (morally or else) from different CULTURES! Your west idea of democracy DOES NOT FLY in Japan, China, Middle East and so on. The super power and its ally sound like Jehovah witness trying to shove what they believe on others and the best part about this is, its for their benefit only. Come on people, just accept the fact that people are different and have different views on things, especially on their definition of democracy!

I guess what I was trying to say is, what you read in the papers is just propaganda. What Mubarak says and what the MB say is also bull. Im trying to say that the PEOPLE of EGYPT will most likely NOT elect such a group that would crush their liberal pleasures. The people of Egypt are very educated and are just looking for reforms to the corrupt regime. Not to put themselves back into the stone age

smartacus, you are obviously not from that region and dont really know what you are talking about. Young people, especially in Egypt are extremely liberal. In fact, Egypt has always been very liberal. In the 50's 60's and 70's hardly any woman wore a headscarf. Belly dancing, as you know, is Egyptian. Have you ever seen what belly dancers wear. Egyptians love to party, drink, smoke, enjoy life. IF it's going anywhere, it would be towards LEBANON's liberal life style.

The whole world sees the US for what it really is, and so do some of it's people that aren't easily persuaded by propaganda (even though they don't like to admit it). I think Japan and the US have one thing in common, their citizens embrace the expression "shouganai".

one more note on electronics. WAy way over priced compared to NA. For example this robot vacuum, same model, sells for less than 27,000 at cosco in canada vs 70,000 at Eiden.

Posted in: Is the deflationary spiral we are seeing in Japan ultimately good or bad for the economy? See in context

The only thing in deflation are home prices and our salaries for those who work for someone. If you are an owner, you are taking advantage of paying less in salary and therefore making more. I went to a used dealership and asked about their interest rate. 7.7!! And you would think we are in a recession and therefore people arent able to pay and so low demand for cars and so one would assume dealers offering incentives like low interest rates..not in japan...

I am glad the WiliB and smartacus have realized that Dictatorship is necessary in some states, especially in the middle east, and that Saddam and whats his face was actually an ally to the states until BUSH's admin did not need them anymore...oh the blood the blood on the west's hands..too bad they cant be charged in court cause they sit on top of the world...This world is so simple..The fittest survive/get away with things. Thats it. And i wish the west could just admit it instead of playing psychological games on their people and on the world. But then again, thats like shooting yourself in the foot...
