Posted in: 8 graffiti messages pleading for help against bullying found in Shiga See in context

Sakurala..perhaps in your area..but in most parts of Japan..it is still overlooked..i work at elementary schools and I see bullying left right and center while the teacher just stands mute. IF it gets bad I interfere and give the teacher the dirtiest look. After my intervention it usually stops in MY CLASS, but...Its really really bad in the city i teach and I bet it is much much worse in other areas!!

apparently all countries must go through civil war after dictatorship. Someone once told me that in France, after Napoleon, it was a brutal process getting to today's democracy! But my question is, can the west's philosophy really work in a Muslim region dominated by Muslim views?? In other words, can the state turn a blind eye to religious law?? I dont think so.

sf2k, i would even say to live in the city in Japan and don't own a car. it was that simple for me. But then i moved to the suburbs/country, got my self a car, and started to gain, so i joined the gym which helps me stabilize my weight (working out 3-4 times for 40min-1 hour). If you wanna lose weight for one with my body type who loves food, one would need to be at the gym for 90 min (4 times a week). oh and all this keeping my diet constant (drinking on weekends, eating sweets twice a week..)

Posted in: 77-year-old woman dies after being dragged 6 kilometers in Niigata See in context

if iam a young guy, lets say in my 20's, hit this 77 year old man (who has reached his expiration according to the average life expectancy) and it was totally his fault but the Japanese law does not see it that way, I would keep going and not stop, but make a call from a pay phone ASAP. Why should I go to Jail for the rest of my life (or even 5 years) for a 77 year old man that caused it?? And even if it were my mistake (why ruin a second life/family with this "accident") And i am sure it was an "accident". Does that help you understand "thekeykeeper"??

@goddog, as opposed to the meaningless wars started by the superpowers in the name of (i still cant figure that one out)..The worst kind of terrorism are the ones caused by superpowers against the poorer countries that have only rocks or AK47 as their ammunition that cause 1000's if not millions in the case of Iraq.

Thats another 50 dead because of BUSH. Sadam killed a couple of thousand (of his own to control his CRAZY people) but lets say 10,000 for the sake of it, in his 24 year reign. Bush and his pointless war, millions in 8 years (casualties PLUS opening the door for those NUTTERS that Sadam tried so hard to control with his iron fist policies)! Another way to see this is imagining China invading America and releasing all the nutters in Jail to do more damage! What a biased world we live in.

thats what happens when the system is atrocious. I hope people keep abusing it until the people in charge get off their lazy butts and start amending laws/rules in Japan. It is unfortunate but the only way to see changes.

I believe that power belongs to whatever/whoever has nothing to lose PLUS nukes;) If we help the North prosper, it could persuade the people to turn on its government (for the people of the N would now have something to lose) Perhaps the north knows this and therefore purposely starves its people...hmmm

@kyoken, compared to just a few years ago (before the Toyota scandal)Japanese car manufacturers had the least number of recalls. Recalls are announced all the time, it just doesn't make news like it does on Jtoday.

@badmigraine, nice one! It took me 6 years to believe them on that point. And then i realized, when I shop for clothes, I never think of buying a shirt for others. I buy it if i think it looks good on me (but subconsciously I wanna look good for them) now im confusing my self LOL

@manfromamerica, hottomales didnt quote that whole paragraph. It was my error. I meant to quote the first 2 sentences. The rest is me. @TimRussert, the free countries that you speak of aren't as free as you think, hence the whole wikileak news. The only difference between the west and the middle east, is the west likes to use psychological warfare on its own people with media, movies, etc to brainwash the masses. The middle east or the east are more straight to the point and dont hide behind smoke screens.

@hottomales

You know, I don't mind so much that a few of you are pro-Israeli. I mind that you seem to live in a fantasy land. I dont blame these posters much. They have been brainwashed by the western media mainly owned by, I mean their own media convinced them to go to war in Iraq under false pretenses, so go figure. Not until one lives a week in Palestine and feel the humiliation and hardship they have to live since 1967, one wonders why they had enough and started their new way of grabbing attention...

I don't think anyone deserves terrorism or violence even though it was brought to them from the west. All this will end with the west leaving Iraq, Afghan, and most importantly solving the Palestinian issue, which is/was the root of all this. (Saddam and Osama were supporting the Palestinians (their Muslim brothers) fight, and not until 911, nobody really cared) They are succeeding. I wish the west can get out already so the world can go back to normal! But Greed and war will never end so this whole debate is pointless!

Posted in: Palestinians express doubts over 2-state future See in context

@TimRussert even if i tell you that my ancestors (which i can track back 200 years) have been calling themselves Palestinians, you will just ignore it and follow your belief no matter the evidence. We call people like you unreasonable in law. As for the UN, you must be kidding me! If it weren't for the US's only veto to every resolution against Israel being quashed...and the war on Iraq, wasn't sanctioned by the UN but...the UN has no credibility thanks to the veto powered nations, especially .... Anyway, my pitch is for reasonable people, not you. and just so you know, I know tons of young reasonable Israelies that i have met while traveling the globe who share my views, they just know, as we know, that governments everywhere, including theres, dont really have the peoples interests at heart.

Sharpie, i thought everyone understood the severity of an A-bomb. That's the key for any weak nation to stand up to the super powers. It levels the playing field and thats what N.Korea has done! They have nothing to lose if war breaks out and so much to gain when they nuke japan and s.korea. I really thought this was obvious?? So Ya, the only part i agree with you is on the: "what was this meeting supposed to accomplish? seems like not a heck of a lot. 'We stand united.' well so f n what?"

Posted in: Are you going to buy an e-reader or do you already have one? See in context

For you information guys, e-readers (tablets, tabs, smartphones) are also meant to read magazines, comic books, e-books, publications, etc not only novels or bed time stories. Once in a while a paper book is good for some occasions, like the beach or for kids. Anyway, you guys are obviously wrong and will be the few that still insist on paying a ton more for paper. Just like the mp3 format did away with CDs so will the tablets and mainly because of price (i didnt mention e-readers because they are useless in comparison to a tablet, galaxy tab, and smartphones that cost just a bit more with a billion more functions). We can get most books/magazines/etc for free, online, just like music.
