@Wc626 Yep, it does have truth.

So you generalize all JP people based on your "circle" of "Japanese" friends haha. The world doesn't revolve around you, man. Anyway, that's their prerogative if they like Nishikori. Serena is the best tennis player imo right now, but if they like Nishikori, that's fine too. Like I said, a lot of bitter people who use this site as a way of venting about JP and JPN people. People like yourself use this site for that.

@Pukey2 I already know where you stand on JPN in general, so your comment has no value. yawn

My point still stands, lots of people on here want JP people to fail, and when they succeed, they try to downplay their victories.

I agree with Ossan and Kazuaki, JP should reduce their contribution to UN. Its a waste of money.

Exactly Daniel. Fact of matter is China and sk want to keep this going. The commentators on here are so bent on wanting to see JP down all the time. A really negative atmosphere this site is.

Definitely NOT lobbying by Korean.

@hansaram

Haha you dont live in America, do you? Run those same %s for JPAms and yep youll get a way smaller %. Fact of the matter is they are trying to keep their KoreAm votes plain and simple. More KoreAms living in America than JPAms. Know your facts.

Meh, not a fan of the Avengers movies. Though Daredevil (the series, not that god-awful Affleck movie) is fantastic.

Definitely lobbying by KoreAms, but moreso policitians keeping the KoreAm vote in their areas:

Mike Honda - just Google the guy enough said. Steve Israel Sheila Jackson Lee, and Grace Meng - Reps. from Queens, NY - a big Korean population there. Ed Royce and Judy Chu - rep from Los Angeles, a big Korean population there. Don Beyer, Barbara Comstock and Gerry Connolly - rep from Fairfax County, VA - a big Korean population there. Loretta Sanchez and Linda Sanchez - reps from Cali, a big Korean population there. Rob Woodall - rep from Georgia, a big Korean population there. Albio Sires - rep from New Jersey, a big Korean population there.

I think Japan should stop funding UN activities altogether. It's a waste of money, plus Japan will never get a permanent seat on UNSC.

Posted in: No indictment for cop in New York chokehold death See in context

@WilliB You just don't get it, which is fine. I can care less what Jesse and Sharpton have to say on this issue, I don't take them seriously. And note I didn't say white-vs-black, you did. I've mentioned this before on this site, police brutality towards black community is too commonplace in America. Sean Bell, Oscar Grant, Eric Gartner, etc the list goes on and on of black people getting murdered by police in general. Furthermore, the fact there is no indictment in this case pretty much shows how black life is valued in America these days.

@exmatelot Good for you, but keep in mind your kids will get judged anyway whether it's covert or overt. That being said, why comment on a JPN site when you don't care about JPN anymore? I'm planning to move back to JPN (or Hawaii) in the future. And yes, I'm proud to be black, proud of my J wife, and proud of our beautiful kids.

Appalling, but not surprising. A black man gets murdered on camera, and still no indictment. Time to move back to Japan.

Posted in: What do Japanese college students think about U.S.? See in context

@5petals Your assumptions are absolutely ridiculous. Japanese people as a whole are not cold. i have Japanese family and friends, and I can be honest with all of them (and vice versa). Cleo already mentioned it earlier, there are a plenty of mixed marriages between Japanese and non-Japanese in Japan and overseas. It is just funny how a lot of people use this site as a place to vent about things not going their way. It's not constructive at all.

@ex_matelot people being judged by skin of color isnt a Japan only problem. It is a worldwide problem. Shanique's comment above is pretty accurate. ex_matelot, are you still in JPN? If so, why? If you having issues there, you should be finding somewhere else that fits you.
