Huh What about Thomas Glover from Aberdeen in Scotland? He was a big shaker/mover in Japan's Westernisation 1850 on. He imported the first railway engine to Japan, helped start Mitsubishi & started the Kirin beer brewery plus much much more. And Tokyo university. There is a Glover museum in Nagasaki to commemorate his Japanese achievements which has in excess of 2m visitors pa. Does Perry have a named place in Japan?
