Very difficult situation for Japan for what should have been an amazing occasion for the country and visitors who would have had the opportunity to visit a beautiful country.

For all you MBA consultants out there .... solve this one !!

Business case:

IOC hold the contract rights over Japan and want their money, whatever the consequences (please note OG is a mega business now and participants are the side show!)

PM wants to get re- elected

Only 3% (?) of the population vaccinated (Abe no maske wa .. doko deska?? Sorry for my poor Japanese!)

I heard as much of 80% of the population don't want the games under the current conditions (but they're voice is not being considered)

Challenge:

How to still hold the games and keep Japanese people safe from potential infection?

How to make a business case to give the IOC their blood money and save the face of a PM wishing to be re-elected?

Japan's passion for rugby is to be admired and the global rugby community would love to see them enter major competitions in the future. The organization of the RWC was awesome and Japan made so many friends and respect as a result.

It's important to lure global stars to Japan - but I would propose a condition in their (well paid) contracts they make a contribution to Japan rugby by training young players and sharing their skills and promoting the game within Japan.

Then its a ''win" "win" situation!

Go Japan!!!!!!!!!!

Posted in: Nissan shareholders blast management over Ghosn scandal, dismal results See in context

Lessons to be learned!

Even if Ghosn was set up ( clearly!), the problem of Corporate Governance, compliance and segregation of duties was there for many years!!

Too much power in the hands of to few managers.

This has resulted in loss of value to all stakeholders, confidence in the brand and a train wreck of an alliance!

The group should quickly resolve this and refocus on building decent and innovative cars, which they are perfectly capable of doing.

On a lighter note, someone should be negotiating the film rights as this will be a blockbuster, both in Japan and globally !!

Society is changing

So time to think outside ‘group behavior ‘

really sad for for young people trapped in the past
