Posted in: Trump no fan of Sacha Baron Cohen See in context

Baron-Cohen is a clever man, and he knows how to show people at their worst.

The fact that Trump continually rails against TV comedians and comedy shows, just highlights how skewed his priorities are.

I think this is a great picture. We see pictures of women dressed in as little every day on poster ads - and here on JT many times - where were your complaints then?

He certainly is the picture of physical health for a man of his age, too.

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, can watch free on amazon prime in Japan right now!

Thank you for this information - I hadn't realised :)

This looks interesting - and an important message. Conforming to other people's standards of beauty and attractiveness, controlled by Eurocentric views, and the inhumanity of the industry which deals in buying and selling human hair and animal skin/fur.

You are linking "filming the incident on his smartphone" with "one of his acquaintances saw child pornography footage on his phone" and the article doesn't link the two phrases.

So what's your point?

People here still reluctant to come down on porn? The connection is clear as day.

You have misunderstood. The man Daiki Ogawa raped the child in September, and the acquaintance called the police once they saw the smartphone footage in mid-October, ie last week, and Daiki Ogawa was arrested the following week. The suggestion is that the footage was of the poor child.

She must have gone home and said nothing, under threat from him. Bastard. It is disgusting and horrifying. I hope this lives a long long life in prison and dies a slow painful death in a cold room.

The BBC has produced programmes in which English queens have been played by black actresses

I am out of touch with British TV, so I found this interesting. I have googled for more info, and found only one example, back in 2016, of a Black British actor playing a role based on a factual queen of England.

In "The Hollow Crown", itself based on Shakespearean plays, Sophie Okonedo played the part of Margaret of Anjou, who is based on the real-life Queen of England Margaret, and has been portrayed by white actresses in the past.

However, the poster tokyo-m wrote 'programmes...queens...actresses...' in the plural, so there must be plenty more not showing up in search results. Can anyone shed a light?

Links, please, to these "several articles" about all the women have falsely and deliberately accused men that it is a real problem.

Suggesting that false accusations are a regular problem doesn't make what you say "sad but true" at all, not one iota.

Just ask all the male Victims who lost everything due to Falls claims by female scammers.

OK. Where are they?

Men tell lies too, but sadly in most cases no one believes them.

Yes, this is true. They say things like, "That woman accused me of raping her but I didn't".

Again, religion should help people, not emotionally blackmail and rob them.

Posted in: Japan may ease rules on 'morning-after pill' next year: report See in context

All valid points but perhaps a different forum?

Seeking healthy and reasonable alternatives to women having to take a massive drug cocktail seems very on-topic to me.

It is good that this is available, but it shouldn't be considered an easy option.

I predict a lot of buck-passing, and ducking responsibility along the lines of:

"I don't need a condom because you can just get that pill tomorrow, here's a fiver."

Most likely this was not race related, in spite of the race bait headline. Just a bunch of young punks who targeted someone who was an easy target.

Why was this man an easy target?

$89,611 in funds to help pay for Unno’s emergency medical bills, physical and mental therapy, and moving expenses to allow him and his family to move to a safer neighborhood.

That won't go very far, unless he has excellent health insurance.

I wish him well.

R. T. responds about my comment that "If men stopped raping, insisting on sex as their right, and took responsibility for their bodies and their actions by wearing a condom as a matter of course, there wouldn't be such a need for this pill." by saying'

Here it comes. Every subject even remotely related to sex has to be changed to a reminder about rape, women oppression, patriarchy, gender discrimination, etc etc.

Firstly, rape is mentioned in the article.

Secondly, do you feel that asking men to a) stop raping, and to b) take responsibility for contraception is unreasonable?

Condoms break sometimes. Couples who are actually together, even married, get carried away.

Yes, so there is still a need for the morning-after pill. But there wouldn't be such a need for one if everyone were more responsible about cntraception.

If men stopped raping, insisting on sex as their right, and took responsibility for their bodies and their actions by wearing a condom as a matter of course, there wouldn't be such a need for this pill.

If girls were confident that they could refuse to have sex if their partner refused to wear a condom - or simply because she didn't want to have sex after all - without fear of repercussion, there wouldn't be such a need for this pill.

100% of unwanted pregnancies are caused by men.

I don't mean that women should not take responsibility - they do because they have to. If only all men understood that they have to take responsibility too. But Not All Men do, not by a long stretch.

72 hours is three days. The woman needs to be able to access this pill any time she is able - be that before or after a police report.

Posted in: LDP lawmaker apologizes for saying 'women lie' about sexual assaults See in context

Cannot you imagine such a likely situation and tell me your opinion?

Because it is not at all likely. That is my opinion. You can't even find a recent report of one.

I know of one well-known case, and if someone hasn't already mentioned it here they probably will. It dates back over a decade ago.

What is also not mentioned re. chikan is that "false accusation" often means mistaken identity, ie not that the woman was lying, but that someone else groped her.

What is also not mentioned re. rape and sexual assault is that a shocking number of people are not sure how to define it, and consider sex as an almost compulsory part of a dinner date. Also that the victim is encouraged to drop the case at almost every step of the way - the police, family and friends.

When a woman reports an assault or rape she is doubted, but when a man denies committing sexual assault or rape he is believed. This is some prime double-standard misogyny.

Posted in: LDP lawmaker apologizes for saying 'women lie' about sexual assaults See in context

It is a hypothetical situation, I do not care to search for a "news article".

Yes, it is a hypothetical situation, ie nothing to do with this article at all. We are dealing with When a woman is raped or otherwise sexually assaulted, she is so often immediately doubted, disbelieved, and humiliated that most women don't report the attacks.

We don't have to imagine this. Your make-believe is introduced here for the sole purpose of derailing the discussion and placing doubt on actual victims.

but on the other hand we all heard stories of women accusing innocent men of such crimes

Very very rare occurence. Nothing like the daily sexual assault that actually goes on that you don't seem concerned about.

What is common is seeing people online accusing women of lying without any proof, backup, facts, at all.

Do please provide links to a few cases of false accusations that have occurred this year. Not all cases, just a few - let's say five.
