It is confusing, but allow me to tell you this area has already been explored and the place is one large oil and gas area - millions of barrels and remember The answer is staring you in the face that FDR wanted to return the Ryukyu Islands to the Chinese, but he died too soon. China doesnt trust Japan and Japan doesn't like China, but the former government of the Ryukyu Islands and China got along swimmingly. Allow The Government of the Ryukyu Islands to mediate with China and I am sure they would share. No one on Okinawa would ever have to work again (Ala Saudia Arabia )

And now back to business, FDR tried to give the Ryukyu Islands to Chang Kai Shek and Shek begged off as "had no money to support the Ryukyus and in as much as Japan annexed the islamds as payment for rescuing some Ryukyuan fisherman from the aborigines (cannibals) on Formosa -( you can read all about this, in my new book about a "Angry Marine") Suffice to say that Japan didn't give diddly squat about the Senkaus until China found gas and oil under those islands. Frankly, I am trying to get the Ryukyuan people to secede and start their own State. I love those Ryukyuan people - fact is I married to what is a large family of Okinawans.

Okinawa does not belong to Japan I seem to remember that "To the victors, belong the spoils of war" I recall that we fought a war on properties selected by Japan and we won both wars ; One on Okinawa and the second war on the three main islands of Japan proper. Those were allied forces that fought and died to win both those wars. I can show you a letter to McArthur where Hirohito gave the Allied forces the entire kingdom of the Ryukyu Islands if the USA would not put the Army of Occupation on Japan Proper.

I already know the feeling that exist on the Japanese front, BUT I all goes back to what is recognized as the Cairo Accords of `1943. "ALL LANDS TAKEN BY VIOLENCE OR GREED. WILL BE RETURNED TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNERS." T HE RETURN NEVER TOOK PLACE TO THE kINGDOM OF THE RYUKYU ISLANDS,

My son and I have a book coming out soon that explains just how I feel about the present leadership - It is called "Okinawan Reflections By An Angry American" I call for an the island to be managed by Ryukyuan leadership ( I have Masahide Ota in mind.) I originally was going to name it Memorial Island - I love these people and I married there.

What is the matter wityh those who piss and moan about the presence of bases on Okinawa. Every big base on Okinawa is flying the flag of Japan next to the Stars and Stripes and the USA share the Bases with the Japan Self Defense Forces. However you should see the mammoth base the Self Defense Forces have on Iwo Jima. it is ten times bigger than any Base we have on Okinawa. and there are no USA military anywhere on that island. Could we be seeing a rebirth of the Imperial military of Japan? WE were run off this island while the Japanese were ostensibly recovering Japanese bodies from wWWII from the tunnels they constructed prior to 1941, ontact me JT - I have a surprise for you.

I know that Hirohito gave Okinawa to McArthur "if he would not put the Ocupational troops on the three main islands of Japan proper. Okinawa hosted a High Commissioner from the Army and the Corps didn't figure in the original troops that came unto Okinawa. Over the years the Army left and turned it over to the Corps and the UN. I suggest that Okinawa secede from Japan and as a sovereign State, immediately tell the USA to bring thier troops home. If they need help, I will return to Okinawa and make it so. We are supposedly closing all our bases all over this world (801) and this would be "piece of cake."

Correct me if I am wrong, but I see a enormus base and airport on Iwo Jima and I suspect it is a JSDF enitity. I wonder if it isn't a rebirth of the Japanese Imperial military. The USA military are on Okinawa as the result of a "deal" made by Hirohito and Douglas McArthur and I have the paper to prove it. Both these men are dead and Okinawa should ask the removal of all of our military w/o asking permission from Japan. Remember this war ended 67 years ago and many of you were not even born at that time. Get real and know the Ryukyuan people are just as bright as the Japanese. All of the USA military should be brought back to the States and this include 801 bases worldwide. (Hint: the USA will save over a trillion dollars.)
