Posted in: Renault expected to play safe with French replacements for Ghosn See in context

@tinawatanabe :

Maybe you should invest in real companies instead of just forex so you can better understand how MNCs work.

Ghosn has been wanting to retire since a few years ago and dropped a dozen hints in all the shareholder meetings since early 2010s. Renault just accelerated the scheme.

Saikawa is incompetent and orchestrated the arrest so he can play the "true Japanese shogun of a Japanese company" - since he took over where has Nissan's brand gone other than downwards? What happened to their car at the Detroit Auto Show?

If you want to see if he is guilty or not, see if he is still on the board. Otherwise, he isn't guilty; the prosecutors are.

@Silvafan : I think it is even much further back.

Macron was probably the one who used the French govt shares in Renault to pressure Ghosn into the merger. Now he is saving his own skin and political legacy.

Ghosn has already planned to retire when Saikawa messed up everything with the inspection scandal and the 20% reduction in sales in November. He is back in Tokyo to fire him when the tables got turned. He wasn't guilty yet; Renault is just changing the Chairman for business as usual to allow things to move forward; that doesn't mean he isn't removed from the board, and that means Renault is still keeping him around.

Shiga retires, Munoz resigns, their new car stalls at Detroit auto show. Rats bailing from a sinking ship of incompetent blamers.
