Posted in: Why is Japan such an unpopular tourist destination? See in context
People around the world have the perception that the Japanese people don't like nor want us there. I know that may not be true but that is the perception we have. You want to be a part of the international community then get the message out there that you like gaijins and that its not a bad word. Personally I love Japan and studied the language and culture for years but its that dark side that still makes me wonder...

I think this was the last straw for me, I've changed my studies from Japanese language to German. It seems like every couple of months I have to deal with this side of Japan. Having been to Germany and Ireland, I was welcomed like part of the family. I hear all the time that the Japanese people won't spit on me or throw rocks at me, and that's very nice of them, but it sure doesn't make me want to go there....sorry Japan but the feelings gone and I just can't get it back.

For what? Having children? Sorry but these awards mean what?
First of all we do congratulate people for having babies, second the only fact I have to work with in this story is that she won the MOTY Award. Which makes me think she might rate a congrats. and third they must mean something because there is a lot of anger over it. Something as simple as a congrats enraged people so much. Congratulate her and move on with your day.

"Best mother award 2013 in the entertainment category". I think I read it just fine.

They say in the entertainment category, so I don't think it's saying she is better than us, lol. I think it's great that they do this. And good for Kyoko, congrats to her.

Spoils of war go to the victor. And I am still waiting for a heartfelt thank you from China and Korea. Maybe give the USA some land and money for saving them from the Japanese.

The Germans don't even speak of WWII, and you don't hear French or Polish people crying like little babies.

Very sad but extremely noble. No need to armchair quarterback his decisions, a km from home, I would have done same thing. RIP

For those that think a ban on these weapons means the police have to go around and collect them all, is not how it works. They will be grandfathered, which is why the mad rush to get one now, just like in the '90s.

Check out UnicornTable songs like Yawarakana Mirai, Amai Yume, Heavens Door, all well done songs and videos(some concert footage). Then compare those to Love is Magic and Trust in me, (excuse me had to throw up in my mouth). She used to just have a hipster japanese girl look goin on, now I swear she is in spandex in love is magic! Can't really tell from the camcorder it was shot on...

Its sad because she used to be really good when she was with Unicorn Table, which is a Jpop band. Then she went all hoodrat on her longtime fans with a bunch of american guys that no one has ever heard of, thinking they'll help her get big in america I guess. Lol. Her solo album is a hugh disapointment! Amaturish, pseudo artistic videos, horrible music track compared to the band she used to have. And just plain alienating to her long time fans. How sad...

Body armor and fireproof pants is not odd, its a warning sh@t is about to go down! There is no slippery slope here, its on flat ground in my opinion. Of course its appropriate to pull this guy out and figure out what is happening.

I think each thing by themselves is not a big deal (except of course the smoke grenade), but all together raise a huge red flag that something is going down! That is what law enforcement is trained to notice. Not being jittery seems to be normal for some of these people like the shooter in Aurora, calm as could be, taking his time in his massacre. I'm glad they stopped him and hopefully prevented something real bad from happening.
