Okay! Now what we need is for Xi Jinping to dress up as Po (the panda) and shake hands with Mario.

Being a non-Japanese, I'm thanking god that there's at least one nation that is sane enough not to worship this gangnam crap.

Great job by the cabbie for being alert and the other passer-by who stopped to help.

I hope her parents can take more precautionary measures in future. It doesn't hurt to pick your kid up directly from the cram school itself than to let her wait outside a train station alone at night.

Awww, I like her cover better than AKB48. In fact, I've always found AKB48 overrated.

Posted in: Why do so many Japanese women take photos of their food at restaurants and post it on Facebook or their blogs? See in context

It's not just a Japanese thing; most of my girl friends from different nationalities (PRCs, Singaporeans, Malaysians, Filipinos etc.) do take photos of their food as well. I usually just shrug and gobble my food before they try to snap photos of MY food. LOL

It's to prevent any "problems" from screwing things up.

More like to prevent the girls from getting knocked up and cause a scandal. shrugs

Studied in Melbourne for 3 years. Loved the place to bits; including its erratic weather.

Posted in: 2-year-old girl dies in Kawasaki apartment fire See in context

What is wrong with Japan parents?! How can you leave such young children alone at home!? >_< So sad!

Did you even bother reading the article? "The girl’s father Takayuki, 22, and his second son, 4, suffered from smoke inhalation and are in a serious condition in hospital..." If the father had been away from the house, then how would he and his second son suffer from smoke inhalation?

He asked why Americans “should pay hard-earned money on a Toyota in hard economic times?”

Err...because GM sucks?

Posted in: Bosses uptight over newbies' ignorance of phone protocol See in context

Well, I share the same phone with a newbie. Whenever the phone rings, she never answers it. When I pass her calls to her, she always asked who is on the line which really pissed me off. She expects me to know who and for what purpose the other person is calling.

Posted in: Baby girl taken from car while mother shops in Nagoya See in context

Leaving a baby in the car is dangerous. Even if it's not abduction, the baby can die of carbon monoxide inhalation if the air conditioner was left running.

Well, that was the problem which Singapore was facing. That's why they brought in foreigners into their country to encourage consumption and keep the economy grow.

Posted in: Girl escapes injury as train passes over her See in context

A pretty smart kid. Glad that she's okay. The mother should be punished though. I've seen various parents (not in Japan) leaving their children to follow from behind all the time. This makes me wonder; what if someone just come along and grab the child from behind? I feel that most parents nowadays really do lack supervision skills.

Well, he had a weapon. They could've just shot him instead since the guy is a sicko anyway.

Kill for a remote and now he has to live in prison without even getting one. What's the point? Moron.

I love the Liar Game manga but somehow I didn't like Matsuda's potrayal of Akiyama Shinichi. Nothing against Matsuda, he's one of my current favourite actors.

Just practise hygiene and don't leave things piled up in a corner, the "gokis" wouldn't come at all.

Posted in: Innocence lost: the dark side of Akihabara See in context

Seems like the number of paedophiles is growing. Those agencies think that by not making these young girls strip, they are creating a "gray" area which finds its way round the law. However, it's obvious that the "motive" behind these photobooks and DVDs are meant for sexual arousal or fantasies. The young girls may simply think it's normal to engage in such activities as it can probably earn them a good LV or Gucci bag as compared to ordinary part time jobs. The consequence is; when materialism surpasses morality, they'll act in AVs when they reach legal age. Hence, what they are doing right now is like pre-AVs preps. No wonder the AV industry is booming more than ever.

Posted in: Koshi Trust entertained clients at soaplands See in context

From the description in the article above, I assumed Koshi should be 'large' enough to be made a requirement to be audited. So, shouldn't the extravagant entertainment expenses be detected as leading to some fishy business? Or did the auditors do their job in soaplands as well?

Posted in: Tokyo university gives away iPhones to nab truants via GPS See in context

How I wished my uni had done the same. But I'll still skip class all the same right after that.

However, attendance being the key requirement for graduation is pretty strange. Most universities can't be bothered whether you attend classes or not; if you flung your exams, you have to repeat them. Period.
