Why is it called bird strike? Surely it is a case of Birds Being Sucked by Engines! :D It is not like Birds have anything against the planes and want to execute suicide attack on them!

What solar production? Solar energy is still on it's baby steps. It is no a reliable continuous energy source. I have solar panels in my house, and I can not depend on them 100% even if I wrap my house with solar panels. What do you want to do on the rainy season, eat half cooked rice because it is raining for 3 days? Be practical. Show a "reliable" source...not something "part time".

He is a Nobel laureate for Literature, not Environmental science or technology. People need to stick to their expertise before fuming up publicly. I do not want Japan to use fossil fuel. I enjoy the fresh air and do not want it to be polluted. How many nuclear reactor disaster happened in Japan? One? That too was due to a major natural disaster. I am willing to take that chance over continuous Carbon mono oxide poisoning. Those who are going to protest against nuclear power should find an alternative first that is practical in this low natural resource country. And I also don't want to give more money to middle eastern countries to buy more fuel from them.

All those who are saying, just leave them alone, their country their religion etc...are they staying there? How are all these honor killing happening in UK? They are coming to all countries and spreading their stupid beliefs and hatred that is effecting us....if not today, in a very near future. Look at Australia, Netherlands etc. The problem with "their religion" is, they don't keep it to themselves, but throws at our face. Adultery is bad for their society, so why punish the women only? If a woman is raped, it is still her fault, because her dress provoked the rapist!! Wow!

The ever peaceful Islam. And the wondrous human right in Muslim countries, where you can own the women, but don't need to really call it owning! Second to heaven, I presume! Say, all praise to Allah!!

To all the Muslim readers, don't you feel a bit proud about how diligently they follow your religion! Doesn't it make you feel ashamed that you can not do it where you are staying? Don't you want to be more like them and uphold the Quran's teaching in all the countries of the world and get rid of all the infidels?

@roughneck: How many Japanese Immigration officer does it take to kill a Ghanaian overstayer?

It used to take 10, after training, now 2 can do it.

Let's stop the guessing game. I personally knew 4/5 guys who were detained and deported from Japan. None of them had any harsh treatment. Why? Because they were humble and cooperative!! If you are detained, in any country, for any crime, and do not show any remorse, instead become violent, you will get harsh treatment! As for Abu, why did it take 10 people if he was not violent!! If he was in US or other western countries where enforcers carry weapon, he probably would have been shot down dead, and no one would ask any question! He didn't need to be gagged, if he wasn't shouting! Yes, he should not end up dead while in immigration custody, but if he was violent and force was needed to be applied to subdue him, I would say it was unfortunate that he ended up dead. I am sure immigration officers don't have hobbies of killing foreigners.

I wish his wife went to lawyers before he was captured, during their 20 years of married life and filed to make him a legal resident, so this wouldn't have happened.

Japan is a funny country, the J police KNOW exactly where the YAKUZA are, where the Japanese MAFIA are, but they have these stupid problems?? WTF??

Same as Mexico mate...everyone knows the Cartels...no one does anything. At least in Japan Yakuza's don't disturb the commoners. That is the truce between police and Yakuzas.

Tokyo mega-quake would kill over 9,600, simulation shows...

Same level of mega-quake would kill over 96,000 in other countries of the world! What are these stats trying to prove? Your chance of dying in any major natural disaster is high...regardless if you are in Tokyo or Timbuktu!

Dream on! I talked to few of my colleagues who are Japanese and they are pretty angry about the Aussies! The funny thing is how the Aussie guy in the office reacted...he said sorry to almost all the Japanese guys!

In Japan, it looks like, there should be a license to become a father. You need to take training, pass some exams. Why won't a 20 year old understand that he shouldn't hit a 2 month old baby!
