Younger people have better access to multiple news sources and so they know quite a lot about negtive effects of the vaccines. That's why they are reluctant to get shots.

No need to attend, Mr Kishida. Japan should stay away from the war being fought between goons and thugs.

Among other countries, the Netherlands and Norway also ban dual citizenship. Keep wasting your time, Ms Kondo. If your Japanese citizenship was so important to you, you shouldn’t have given it up in the first place.

The Covid vaccines have been around for just over a year now and no one knows their long-term effects, nor are there any scientific evidence to guarantee their safety. You can get as many shots as you want but only at your own risk.

Due to the war in Ukraine and the sanctions against Russia, a power shortage is expected throughout Japan. The 1,000 plaintiffs should start chopping wood for fuel to warm themselves during the bitterly cold winter in Hokkaido.

It seems like the noose is tightening around your neck. Enjoy your life in Lebanon while you can. Just wondered. Which would you prefer, prison in France or prison in Japan?

I’m just curious who’s paying legal fees for the Sri Lankan family. Surely they don’t have enough money to pay those human-rights lawyers.

“achieve approximately 3 percent in business growth per annum “

The academic standards of Japanese universities won’t become world-class unless the government stops seeing college education as investment in business that brings you quick returns.

"But the easing of export controls is expected to raise concerns that Japanese-made weapons may be used in conflicts overseas."

Weapons are made to be used in conflicts and can only be improved through actual use in battlefields. No wonder Japanese-made weapons are not competitivein the world weapons market.

Doesn't anyone ever learn? The US-made vaccines were designed to prevent the alpha strain Covid virus which originated in Wuhan, China. The virus has gone through dozens of mutations since then and the vaccines' efficacy is now rather dubious. I don't see why the government keeps offering the same vaccines.

Women mature earlier than men and therefore they do better at college entrance exams. Some kind of adjustment can be justified at medical schools or we will be seeing more dermatologists and ophthalmologist and fewer surgeons and ER doctors.

Posted in: Japan to double Ukraine aid to $600 million See in context

If Japan is so concerned about China’s growing military assertiveness, the money should be used to improve the country’s defense capabilities. Now Biden is coming. I suspect some kind of US pressure behind this additional loan or handout.

It wasn’t the guy’s fault that the money had been deposited into his bank account by mistake. But it was clear to him that he was not entitled to the lump sum. He had an obligation to return the money to its rightful owners but instead he made off with it. This constitutes theft or fraud by forbearance. The guy is a criminal.

A country’s population decline will not necessarily follow the course plotted by a negative exponential curve. It will level off at some point. Japan’s birthrate keeps declining simply because those in prime childbearing age, people in their 20s and 30s, are earning less than their parents and cannot afford to have a family.

"Japan's grip over the peninsula in the 20th century resulted in an exodus of Koreans on a scale comparable to that of Ukrainians observed in the two months following Russia's invasion launched in February 2022."

Prof. Mizuno was probably quoted out of context. The reason for the mass 'exodus' was that many Koreans knew they could have better jobs and better life in Japan. Since all Koreans were Japanese citizens, there was nothing to prevent them from leaving Korea for Japan.
