Of there are many reasons why the wife would leave the husband and take the kids. But in some of those cases, there was never any love in a relationship and the husband was merely an unwitting sperm donor for the wife. I have a friend and maybe he'll read this who had two angelic blond-haired, blue-eyed, daughters with his J wife. One day she just up and said she wasn't interested in sex anymore and told him to go get a girlfriend.

Fukushima is a big place. Depending on prevalent wind patterns and distance, how do you know there was any radiation at all in the rice? Or in the rice produced in adjacent prefectures for that matter, should we stop eating Japanese rice all together?

Posted in: More time needed for confidence to return on Fukushima produce: Lam See in context
Washing "should" be sufficient to rid the rice of any remaining alpha radiation that may be present after the rice is processed, if there ever was any.

Sometimes It takes so many officers in Japan because the police are just being too nice. I once watched a group of policemen subdue a drunk guy who was running around in traffic. It took 13 officers to get this guy under control, eventually wrapping him in a blanket before throwing him in the back seat of the patrol car.

A few months ago, I went to donkey hotel to buy rice. One particular brand was much cheaper than the others, so I grabbed it. It wasn't until I got home that I realized it was from Fukushima prefecture. Not wanting to waste a whole bag of rice, we ate it. But I washed it thoroughly before cooking it.

I have a video on one of my very old cell phones of my now 11 year old granddaughter screaming her head off as a baby of about this poor child's age, and she stopped instantly upon being picked up. That's all she wanted.

Again. at least in the US, if you act with "reckless disregard" and that act results in the death of another, you can be charged with and convicted of murder even though you didn't kill anyone on purpose. Of course I'm not a judge or a lawyer, but seems to me throwing your bicycle from the 12th floor onto the sidewalk below just might qualify. I hope the woman recovers completely.

Wouldn't most hotels of that size already qualify? They would have elevators of course, and wheelchairs already fit through doorways, so getting into the room would be no problem. Maybe just a matter of being able to get into the building itself.

In the States, the laws for care facilities are really weighted in favor of the residents. When I was doing hands-on care, one resident told me that the physical therapist had touched her inappropriately. She then immediately retracted her statement, and made me promise not to tell anyone because she wanted to think it over. The next day, I was called into the director's office and they asked me if she had told me. So of course I said yes, but she made me promise not to tell anyone. They then explained how much legal trouble I would have been in if they hadn't covered for me. I couldn't believe it.
