But now the judge is in a quandary. How can I give a suspended sentence to this woman and not look like a wuss

I can't freaking believe it. Not 10 minutes after my last post, after dropping my granddaughter at the bus stop, a guy on his bike traveling at speed through the crowd, swerved at the last instant to miss hitting me. I could feel the wind caused by his passing. I confess right now, if somebody doing that hurts me or my family, I'm going to put that bike where the sun don't shine. I don't care who it is.

Many bikers zoom right past inches away. I see it everyday and it scares me personally.

@ doodoo, " I didn't read about worker incompetence anywhere in this particle." Let me draw you a picture...He entered an area with four tigers, and now he's dead. He did something wrong now didn't he.

It doesn't matter who you know or how many different "what ifs" you propose, he still entered not ensuring it was safe. All those situations you are proposing only address the why he did it, but he still did it himself.

Unless that guy was dragged into the enclosure against his wil, he entered it knowing there were Tigers there and not making sure the situation was safe. That's how I can state it so categorically

Posted in: Zookeeper dies after being mauled by white tiger See in context

Either the Tigers all got really smart and figured out how to open Gates and such, or the Zookeeper put himself in a place he shouldn't have been. That's how I could have stayed at so categorically.

He's a government employee, money will be paid and the case will be dropped

It's the zookeeper's fault for getting complacent, as was stated earlier, and violating safety protocols. Let's hope there's no consequence for the Tiger.

I can't even bear to look at Yuachans picture, let alone read the article. Knowing how she was beaten and tortured to death, all the while begging forgiveness and promising to be better. I'm crying as I write this. I hope that b@stard gets what he deserves, and Yuachan spends eternity in bliss.

Nothing like this will ever happen in Japan, because the yakuza are too ingrained into Japanese society. In fact, some "retired" yakuza leaders have even gone on to hold the highest posts in the Japanese government.

And you won't either, because they're not trying to kick the Japanese out of Japan. I suspect that sentiment has little to do with aircraft, and more to do with being constantly reminded that they are the conquered and Americans are occupiers

Posted in: Japan faces scrutiny over longer detentions at immigration centers See in context

@ gainintraveller, did you read my post? I said there are injustices being done. BUT, in cases where people CHOOSE to be here (meaning what comes next does not apply to those who didn't choose to be here) they assume the risk. So you didn't have to tell me he didn't choose to be here and that these laws should not apply to him because I already knew that thank you very much

I don't doubt that there are in justices being committed here. But in cases where people chose to be here illegally, they are assuming the risk

Apparently his mother was a waitress, and his Marine father had to go back to the States before Denny was born. Denny later tried to locate his father, but was unsuccessful, because his mother had destroyed all evidence of the father and made it impossible. Sad story.

Maybe you shouldn't have taught her to fear them then. "Look out honey, it's going to fall on your head! Run! We're all gonna die!"

Unless you think "the family dynamic" somehow justified stomping an old man to death.
