It was in her mind that at the ripe old age of 25 that was probably her last shot at an Olympic medal so she not only did poorly, but her dream was at an end. Close but no cigar.

Some Japanese crisis-management experts were critical Toyoda neglected protocol by dispensing with the humble bow. What awaits in Congress could be far more testing.

Maybe Obama can save the day and refresh Toyada's bowing finesse?

Perhaps the term "figure skating" needs to be replaced with the seemingly more apropo term "Jump skating".....

and they say Taliban is poor(?) who supplies them cars, explosive and other arms so that they can challenge world's super power?

not sure where I ever read that the Taliban are poor>? Uneducated and backwards maybe, but never heard anyone say they were poor. They are supported and finaced by the worlds largest cash crop and export of dope. Poor? Me no thinks so. I would not exactly call them a challenge to the world's super power, a major irritant sure, but a challenge, not on their lives.

When private aircraft are outlawed, only outlaws will have private aircraft......or we could make them register them which will then prevent these types of crimes, or institute a 14 day cooling off period and do a good background check..or why not just a private plane control act, or simply bring back the ban on assault aircraft which Bush and his cronies had allowed to expire!!

Ah what a wonderful victim filled world we live in. What was it, 10 years ago that providing signers for the hearing impaired was all the rage? I didn't see one anywhere in the opening ceremony......and me, I didn't understand most of what the First Nation speakers were saying except the "Welcome..." part...where was my English translator then huh??

I think Toyota cars are the safest on the road due to all the recent recalls and problems reported with them. I also feel that only the cars made in USA are having these problems due to the notoriously unreliable American work ethics. I will still continue to like Toyota because everyone knows American cars are crap.

Posted in: Toyota undecided on president's trip to U.S. See in context

The U.S. should simply ban all imports of Toyota cars. Much like the Japanese and other nations use suspected and usually bogus health care issues to ban US beef and pork products. Only this issue is much more sinister, how many excuses have been offered so far and how many statements that the problems were "fixed" only to have the same, or similar reports a few days later? Can anyone say coverup?
