Posted in: Kishida announces Hiroshima as host city for G7 summit in 2023 See in context
As a resident of Hiroshima, I welcome this announcement by Prime Minister Kishida. I am also pleased that the US, France, and the UK, all of which possess nuclear weapons, support this choice. At a time when some people are threatened by nuclear weapons due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, I hope that the G7 summit in Hiroshima will remind the world of how cruel it is to use nuclear weapons. I fully understand that it is practically difficult to eliminate nuclear weapons, but I hope that nuclear weapons, including nuclear tests, will never be used again.
