Why don't they just deport them and ban them from entering japan again?

likely because they’re paying income tax.

Being a local resident myself, perhaps I can elaborate on what the Association leader was talking about. In the area directly adjacent to it in front of the building is a very narrow road barely why did Knouff for two cars much less pedestrian traffic from nearby stations. So until the city widens the road it’s quite a dangerous place to walk, and drive.

So if you can imagine dozens and dozens more people per hour walking on that narrow road it is incredibly inconvenient not to mention dangerous.

if the city can pay for road widening on that particular street, I wouldn’t have a problem with memorial being built.

The Japanese Government should provide an unconditional basic income of 3,245,550.00 yen (equivalent of $30,000 United States Dollars) to all of its citizens.

That’s basically a middle class income in Japan, not a “basic income.

According to japan’s Tax policy a basic income is approximately 960,000yen/year although this year I heard it may be going up.

Is there really any need to nitpick? Instead of criticising, try contributing. Isn't the spirit of the Olympics to set aside our differences and come together as one? Being so pedantic is just a little divisive.

LOL

pointing out a factual error is not being divisive. In fact, tell the people of Nunavut they’re territory doesn’t matter and see whose the divisive one.

The art is great but lacks respect for the real heritage of some of the countries.

It’s amazing how many people are jumping to conclusions.

the big story here should be that 10 minute wait time for the police.

Dear Japan Today editor,

This is event is the Hita Gion Festival, not to be confused with The Gion Festival which takes place in Kyoto. Without mentioning “Hita” one assumes it is THE festival registered as a Unesco WH event in Kyoto.

Some clarification for readers would be nice.

what is with all of the 'holdings' and other stuff.

John, It is 7&i because 7-11 merged with Itoyokado, thus the i.

The name of the company could be shortened to 7&i but not 7-11 as it would be incorrect.

Incorrect, Both candidates leading elections want to remove the Osaka city and other city govts in Osaka prefecture and unite everything to cut costs and bureaucracy.

Posted in: Cabinet approves bill to lower mobile phone fees in Japan See in context

This new proposed law HAS NO TEETH!

It will do NOTHING to stop the incredible price fixing going on among the top 3 carriers and does NOTHING to actually lower prices. It simply says carriers can't offer you discounts on a new phone purchase and carry over those discounts on monthly plans. If ANYTHING, it will make Softbank change their pricing structure, nothing else.

If Abe owns it, it's political suicide with his base of right-wing hawks that want the NK abduction issue solved and see NK as the enemy not future trade partner.

I can pass the under-powered scooters as soon as the light turns green. (I never understand why they always insist on getting to the front, when everybody just passes them right away.)

Garypen, 50cc scooters are allowed and in many locations supposed to stop at the front because it is the most visible place. It prevents scooters being in cars blind spots when making a right turn.

Do you know why Parisians hate foreigners? Because they’re overrun with them like the rats in their sewers. Let’s compare Japanese and French only if and when the tourist rates come close to being the same.

They most likely didn't have helmets, and were most likely on a 50cc scooter, which is meant for 1 person. (although it's still somewhat speculation until further details come out)

Maybe it's not common in your country to work on the weekend, but in Japan, Saturday classes are quite common. Or quite possibly, there was a company meeting that the boss pulls a no-show, doesn't answer his phone, email, or even answer the door. Caring employees would worry, and perhaps, we don't know, maybe he had health issues and a thoughtful member of his company thought they'd check in on him with a spare key? or yeah, you've been watching too much CSI.

JeffLee,

i grée with the first half of what you said but disagree on it being big corporate holding Japan down. Japan has for a long long time had one of the highest corporate tax rates in the developed world. That and strict lending practices since bank reform have made it hard for companies to take risks with their profits.
