You can just tell you're going to get a fair trial here...

They might as well walk down to the preschool at the end of the block and ask those 5 year old's to put together a pretend court and you could come up with a more suitable environment...

They're ALL at fault, including the parents of these kids, for letting them right 2-wheeled motorized vehicles in Japan...

Kids under 18, shouldn't be riding anything without pedals, it's not a question of "IF" you will have an accident, but only "WHEN!"

Just look at the stats....

It doesn't matter How Good of a rider you are, it's the other guy or women driving the car or truck, and kids don't have enough experience to be on the road.

I feel sorry for the girl, because her parent's let her ride around on the back idiot's bike! I hope he's stuck with bill! BAD PARENTS!

Miyaratmosphere hey guys, can you imagine this country having an actual sex-offenders registry? Do you think I'm dreaming too much? Does it sound impossible?

Ha ha ha.... Yea... You'd have half the Kanagawa police on it....

I take it you're not from NY city or Detroit...? There are some women there that would give some of these JN "Girly-Men" a really ass whipping...

But you have to remember, Gaijin's are the really cause of all the problems in Japan, or so they say... And you can bet that 99.9999% of Japanese father's teach their kids from the age of 3, that all foreigners are evil....

Nihonjin = GOOD, Gaijin = BAD!!!

It would be funny, except it's true, they really teach this kind of stuff...

BurakuminDes Mr. Obama - who is the ELECTED President of the United States - should NOT be bowing to this old bloke in the photo by the name of akihito.

Good point, and I whole-heartedly agree, I think Mr.Obama is only doing it out of diplomacy, as opposed to George Dubya, who would probably expect the Emperor to kiss his hand... But I do think he needs to realize that while he may think that it's a good thing to be as diplomatic and courteous as humanly possible, at the same time, he needs to realize that his actions are on behalf of America. In this instance, I do think a polite hand-shake would have more than sufficed.

But I still like the Macarthur photo with Hirohito.... That really says it all.... Wasn't much of a General, but he sure knew how to play politics.

On the other side of the car park was a car with 4 young men inside. Unfortunately, our eyes met for a second and these young toughs thought they would beat up a foreigner (there was nobody around). Anyway, they came charging across the car park.

Man, you are so lucky!!!

I wish I could run into a car load of scum bags like that at 6:30 in the morning! You are soooo lucky! I would pay good money for that kind of opportunity... Usually they just bow their head's after I turn around and run after them.... Only one time, did I have to back off, after about 15 or 20, came out from around the corner, I almost followed them into the elevator, but my there were just too many of them, and my ASP is only the 16-inch model.... Real Bummer....

How about calling the police the very instant a man gets punched in your restaurant...?

This Restaurant owner should be held liable! It happened in his his restaurant and he had a responsibility to at least call the cops, the very instant this elderly man was assaulted!

Now time to go back to back to cracking down on Illegal Bicycle parking! Hear, no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.... Oh, there's an illegally parked bicycle!

Here's a novel idea... Instead of going back to doing nothing but harassing obasan's and salary-men on bicycle's, How about obtaining search warrants for every single member of this Inagawa-kai gang...? Maybe turn up some illegal guns...? Or are illegally parked bicycles more of a threat to public safety...?

Me thinks the J-Clown-Cops are worthless and they couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag.

Posted in: Policeman fires two shots during brawl with foreigners in Mie See in context

I seriously have no problem with the officer shooting the guy who hit him on the head...if that were the only variable to consider. Its not. There was a crowd. The odds of hitting an innocent bystander was actually greater for shooting flat at a person with intent to kill. Not only a miss but also a hit that passes through could be a bigger problem than a bullet in the air. The warning shot was the safest option. Part of the proof is that no one died. Another thing to consider is that the officer was surrounded by three men. You cannot taser three men at a time. Pepper spray will be hard to apply in such a case. It seems to me the officer chose the best of a lot of bad options.

This is crazy... What-ever...

There's an old proverb, "Never argue with a fool." And you've certainly proved why that's so true, Thank You!

And only by the grace of god, no body was injured, killed or maimed by these idiots discharging firearms into the air, in a residential area. Thank God no one was injured, except maybe the pride of these very poorly-trained J-Clown-Cops.

mnemosyne23

Very Good post and very factual! These people who are backing these J-Clown-Cops, have no idea just what in the hell they are talking about...

Now if that were the LA or NY PDs,those dudes woulda be shot in the back whilst running away.

Maybe 20 years ago in the Bronx, but as mnemosyne23 so eloquently stated, you just can't go around shooting people, and You certainly Cannot just shoot someone running away. Most people that get shot by cops, are those that reaching around inside their pockets or in their car, in which case the Officer has cause because he has no idea, if they are going to pull a gun...

And Finally to this NigelBoy...

5 am in a morning? I doubt it.

It's obvious that you have not a clue, what you talking about... These bullets, especially hand gun calibre, even when they strike a solid object, don't usually come to a complete stop.

That's why if you fire a hand gun in a an apartment complex, the bullet, will not only go through the person (unless it strikes bone), it will continue on and through the wall of the first, and then the next wall, and maybe even a third or forth wall..

Firing warning shots, is only done in war zones and third world countries... Period...

And only police, lacking complete common-sense and or proper training, respond to a 20 person brawl, with two cops on bicycles.... Ridiculous......

And I would even go as far again and say that if that cop two years ago in Akihabara had been properly trained, would have shot that kid as soon as he brandished the knife.... Those of you that aren't familiar, this cop received a NON-Life threatening stab wound, but then this kid went on stab and kill 4 more people... Because this cop didn't respond with lethal force when it was not only appropriate, but necessary, hence 4 more people died... Good fricken job.... I'm surprised they even called the cops... Unfortunately this kid stopped stabbing people when he got tired, Not because of anything the police did....

Posted in: Policeman fires two shots during brawl with foreigners in Mie See in context

Unfortunately, in other countries the cop would have shot and killed the suspects; a bad outcome.

Not if they are properly trained, as which is the case in most in Civilized countries... The point being, police departments around the world, have long since abandoned the practice of firing warning shots...

Why...? Because it's just too dangerous.... And the likely hood that someone will eventually be struck by that projectile is just too great... Oh, sure, just fire off a couple warning shots straight into the sky... no harm right...? Well those of you that know a little bit about physics, should know that these bullets, just don't disappear into thin air...

They are going to land with a great amount of force, and if someone is struck in the head by one of these falling bullets, fired by a brainless, corrupt and pedophile J-Cop, they will die.....

Posted in: Policeman fires two shots during brawl with foreigners in Mie See in context

Any chance that the officers were freaked out about the gaijin and made the situation worse?? NEVER heard of cops firing warning shots on Japanese folks.

No, they do.... Stupidity knows no race boundaries... Last spring in front of Roppongi Hills with hundreds of innocent, and potential helpless victims walking by, that could have been struck by his brainless shots.

This is another point in question, normal police departments (once again in "Civilized" Countries) have policies to protect officers, they normally don't rush into brake-up fights involving 20 people, if there are only two of them....

(It's also called "Common-Sense")

Call my cynical, but waiting for the victims to die is obviously Japan's best strategy. Japan loves to demand apologies but never gives them for far greater atrocities. Ever.

Isn't that the truth....! You have to remember, you cannot use traditional logic and common-sense to argue with these people, it's more like arguing with your 7 year old...

I am surprised I haven't seen any of those same blabbering idiots.

Peeping up skirts is "naughty", even in Japan

And what planet do you come from...?

Naughty....?

It's a fricken crime! There's no Grey area about it... When you start taking pictures up women's, school-girl's dresses, skirts, in their bra, IT's NOT NAUGHTY... IT'S A CRIME!!!

I haven't kept up with the latest stupid JN laws, which make it a crime to take a picture with your cell phone on the train of people, Not talking up someone's skirt... Yes, this is a crime, with the same legal consequences as this fricken pervert - pedophile cop!

Now that's a country with some screwed up priorities!

But it's some-how scene as "Naughty" to take a picture up a woman's skirt in Japan... "Oh Japanese oyaji boys will be oyaji boys - You Naughty Japanese Oyaji boys stop taking those up-skirt photos!"

You needn't say another word... You just explained the average mentality of the Japanese man.... It sits somewhere between 7 and 10 years of age...

Macarthur wasn't far off!

prefectural nuisance prevention ordinance

Anyone know if this is the same law that basically makes it a crime to take a picture (any picture) in public, train, bus, walking down the street etc...?

It's one thing, if this law is specific enough to target perverts, but it's quite another to make a blanket policy to keep anyone from taking pictures...

A few months ago, on one of the train lines, a middle-aged oyaji was arrested for taking a picture of a girl seated across from him, with his cell phone, NOT an up-skirt or obscene photo, just a picture of a girl seated across from him...

Stupid shit....

I'd love to see them try to arrest a SOFA sponsored person for taking a "NON-OBSCENE" picture in public, The base commander would tell the JN Cops to go screw themselves...

Yes, common-sense does matter!

Lol, dang the hilarity just never stops. Police officers in Japan need to understand that if you're gonna have to go down for something, make sure its WORTH it. Have organized crime syndicate pay you 300000yen a month or something to let them go about their business...

Oh... They do...! But you'll never ever read about this in the JN news. That's why the FBI / JN Police estimated that as much as 90% of normal businesses in Japan, have been not only infiltrated, but are under the control of organized crime. You can Google these stats.

I can't imagine who this guy is defending these cops... Not only are they incompetent, they're corrupt!

Is it the pay...? I can't imagine why these guys are so incorrigible, if not blatantly corrupt and incompetent!

In the U.S. (and most other civilized countries) they do background checks on all potential law enforcement personnel, sure they can't eliminate all the bad apples, but they do a pretty good job.

Posted in: Should U.S. President Barack Obama visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki when he comes to Japan in November? See in context

He should go, no harm there. But if he makes a speech then he shouldn't appologize for previous US actions. He should stress how the US is leading the international effort to stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

I agree with just about everything you said here, aside from visiting the actual sites or the memorials... If he visits the cities and makes a couple visits to the Universities or local Better Business Bureau's and makes a couple speeches, I think would be fine...

But nothing more than that...

You see the Japanese of today, really truly do not know what happened 60 years ago, as far as most school kids today know (and have been taught in schools), they believe that Japan was a peace loving nation, and all of a sudden, "The Great Satan" just started dropping bombs...

I've even heard that some people really have no idea which happened first, Perl harbor or Hiroshima.... While I don't necessarily agree that Perl Harbor was 100% Japan's fault (I fault U.S. military leaders at the time for being so unprepared more that anything), nor was it their greatest evil against the U.S. and certainly not Asia or even humanity for that matter.

If he goes to Hiroshima or Nagasaki, he should stay well clear of the Memorials, at least until the JN Gov't incorporates the slave immigrant monuments into the same area, thus giving them at least equal status... They go to such great lengths to lower the status of the non-JN's who died there...

They were forced into slavery from other countries into Japan, against their will, and died as a direct result of Japan's war or aggression, they deserve much better than a tiny little placard / monument hidden behind some toilets, which requires a GPS to even find...

Should U.S. President Barack Obama visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki when he comes to Japan in November?

Absolutely Not Needed...

And even if he just goes there to grab a hamburger, the JN media and Gov't would love to paint it as some form of acknowledgement...

Here we go again... Jn's feeling sorry for themselves and trying once again to equate Japan as the Victim of WW2...

It seems their memory is so short lived....

Not even going into all the arguments about school kids and old lady's being trained to fight to the last person to defend the homeland, or that Okinawans were literally forced over cliffs to prevent them from surrendering, or that weeks leading up the actual bombings, the U.S. dropped leaflets explicitly tell people to flee these areas where the A-bombs had a possibility of being used... You see Japan, you have more problems with your own White-Washing of history...

Time to stop feeling sorry for yourself and start dealing with your own REAL problems, and here's a hint, 99.99999% of them don't involve foreigners...

I think it's time Japan starts acting like a grown-up member of the International community.
