All pessimistic and apocalyptic comments are highly rated.

If someone writes a comment with a hint of optimism and common sense, they are bombarded with negative rates.

Positive attitude.

It is true that the event is a greater risk for Japan due to the arrival of people from all over the world (Olympians and delegates), but things are happening and if you are not afraid you go and see at least a part of the opening ceremony.

From a summary of previous articles about J nuclear plants,

now that they are “reshape the security mindset” and have figured out that operating sesmiometers are important to the safety of a nuclear power plant, starting a 44-year-old reactor is like riding a bike...

Posted in: 2nd Ugandan Olympic team member in Japan tests positive for COVID See in context

@Samit Basu

This was expected, since new variants are so easily transmissible and only the likes of Pfizer and Moderna can stop them.

Ugandan Olympic team received AstraZeneca, which can't stop variants as well as Pfizer and Moderna.

Don't talk nonsense!

No vaccine provides immunity against virus infection.

An interesting documentary "Nimitz incident", where experienced fighter pilots drove planes to the limits of their capabilities in the pursuit of unknown flying objects.

It looked about like a two-year-old was chasing you in order to catch you.

It is also interesting, that they measured a UFO descent from a height of app 20 km or so at a speed of about 30,000 km / h, which then stopped above sea level in a blink of a eye.

Go and figure.

Posted in: Truck driver arrested over fatal hit-and-run in Toyama Prefecture See in context

@Mr Kipling

This is a general traffic light system all over the world, except that it is mostly right-handed. Japan is no exception.

The side mirrors on heavy trucks are positioned and made so that everything is visible from the mirror to the end of the truck.

The blind spot is only in front of the mirrors, which is quite a large space considering the size of the truck's cabin.

Where it is possible for a cyclist or pedestrian to approach the vehicle so close, cycling should be prohibited on this section of the road or adjust the roadway accordingly.

as we were taught in kindergarten, before you cross the road make sure it is safe.

As we were taught in driving school, before turning right (in my case) at an intersection, always double-check the bike path or sidewalk for potential cyclists or pedestrians.
