Major issues being avoided in the reporting are 1) whether the woman was a Fuji Television employee, 2) whether a senior executive was responsible for ordering the two-person date with Nakai and 3) whether the company pressured her regarding her contribution during the date. I.E. This might be Johnnys all over again.

So, if she had given her consent, it would have been OK?
That was exactly what i was thinking.
And Webter's defines consent as, among other things, as "to give assent". Not exactly the same as indicating a shared positive sentiment.

Automatic transmission Jaguars of that era connect their gear stick to the transmission via a steel cable which if stretched too far or drawn too tight, will align the transmission with the adjacent position to the P-R-N-D letter on display. This is a difficult adjustment that needs to be monitored very carefully. If the cable had been tightened a tad too much and the tech selected N and revved the engine moderately the car would shoot backwards in the way that has been reported in this accident.

Recently used the kosoku bus from Kobe to Fukuoka for Y8,400, it was great! Three seats across the whole bus, everyone gets a curtained compartment. Needed to be in the waiting room off Kobe centagai by 1140 pm, arrived Hakata station before 8am. Two drivers, two 15 minute parking area/konbini stops on the way. Hakata arrival terminal has wide choice of breakfasts (I chose pancakes and coffee) and includes a nice onsen.

The ultra-high incomes of such "discerning yacht guests" will basically reflect such things as excessive profits extracted from the rest of humanity and perhaps unfair or illegal exploitation of taxation systems. Sony was notorious for being siloed, with little cooperation between divisions.
Sony was origially all audio-visual hardware, until the late-1980s. As others gained in hardware it sensibly moved into to software and entertainment and under Idei this has become the mainstay.

He was arrested in the USA, not Japan. Japanese were regular travelers, and they were not prohibited from leaving Japan at any time in modern history.
From at least 8 December 1941 until 31 March 1964 ordinary Japanese living in Japan could not obtain passports for purposes such as tourism. Passports were usually designated for single-use, such as for leaving the country for emigration. When Horie sailed from Japan in May 1962 he therefore did not have a passport and his departure was illegal, as was his arrival in San Francisco.

Doubt if this is number one in other countries. Does not impact at all on one's driving, in the way the second and third causes do.
The reason this is number one in Japan has to do with the group mentality and the taboo of breaking the group consensus.

Increasingly severe?? Admittedly the late 1940s and the 1950s there was a severe security environment surrounding China including in the Taiwan Straits. But the 1960s to the 2020s? The only thing that has become "increasingly severe" is the PRC's unstoppable buildup of offensive capabilities it does not require.
the Japan-U.S. alliance "must not undermine the interests of a third country."
Hmm. Indeed, some would say the relative strategic military superiority of the US and its allies in the Pacific has now diminished to the extent that the imbalance is now starting to threaten the interests of a number of parliamentary democracies, which typically have thriving economies.
