@sailwind Don't feel the need to apologise to people of "faith". They should be fully responsible for the cult they are associated with.

It's not the fact that it's a girl that shocks me. Not even the fact that the victim was beheaded shocks me; it is that it is 2010, we are massively technologically advanced yet we still kill each other.

@HeyLars You're quite right. I am 6'5", 220lbs, white, been here for 10 years and speak Japanese fluently. I very rarely get this kind of blatant bullying. There will always be bullies, wherever you go. We should be grateful they hardly ever get violent, unlike in some other countries.

Belesarius> I agree, a ban on religion would be a great start, although somewhat impossible. However, we should criticize ALL religion, not single out any one.

I disagree with you saying atheists are "such arrogant people". Remember, this is the Internet where EVERYBODY thinks they are right and arrogance freely walks among all those with labels on themselves!

johnnyreb> A disease? Come on now, you can't catch it. It's a condition.

The point here is that the close affection in many Japanese families is lacking, which is a large contributing factor to those who are more susceptible to the condition of depression becoming depressed.
