In fact, AFC and CAF are on equal standing with each guaranteed three spots for the Olympics. Only the fourth placed team of each confederation will contest a playoff to decide who will go through as the seventh team.

It is a shame to lose like this at home even though the match was a dead rubber. Round 4 will be tough for sure, especially if Japan gets drawn in a pool with 3 that have topped their groups. Hope Japan can pull a miracle and bring back their Asia Cup form in Round 4.
