What a boob--how they could let someone who clearly doesn't "get" sports and the heart of the athelete to be in charge of the biggest sports spectacle in the world is beyond.

I suppose when you're 70 years old, you don't realize that nearly 7lbs of drugs, probably wrapped up in plastic, tends to look a little sketchy in the X-ray machine.

Her stated reasons were bogus. Professionally, her ex was such a nobody compared to what she had, she figured on ending it before he became a loser hanger-on.

Hamasaki was a little flat--I didn't know she was deaf in one ear, but that might explain her being flat. The quality of her singing voice, though--well, that's a different problem. Overall, it was entertaining. My wife thought the two children (Mana/Fuku) were the best/cutest act. Ayaka Hirahara--very good performance. Angela Aki--solid vocals; she could've dressed a little nicer. SMAP--they were pretty mediocre. AKB48, plus the other 8000 singers from the ***48 crew were okay. The Korean girl groups are definitely sexier and more vocally polished than their Japanese counterparts.
