nothing worse than hearing Japanese girls "scream" like crazy over something that would not even scare my 10 year old nephew. Have you guys heard them at disneyland rides!?!?! Makes me want to bring earmuffs to the theme parks :P

never saw the reason why sports people need to put "tats" on themselves. Does it make look hard or cool or what!?! Just seems silly to me. A lot of people copy each other and fall in to peer presure because others around them have tats. Seems to me like school all over again :P

sorry but what is a "15 year old" doing out at night alone at 11pm. Parents should not be letting their kids out late at night (don't matter if they are with friends). This is irresponsability by parents. This tragedy would have been avoided if the parents would have picked up their daughter after the event. I have seen way too many drunk losers on the streets (specially after big hanabi festivals). RIP to the girl did not deserve to end her live like this. Hope the catch the guy and he gets put in jail for life.

I hope this guy get the same thing he did to this poor woman "IN JAIL". And he calls himself a man. People like this should be locked up away from society and thrown away the key. What sane person does this to a woman, don't matter if drunk or sobber no normal human being would even imagine doing this. What is wrong with this horrific person. Like it has been said earlier by other people, 4 years is not enough. 15 should the the least for his crime of "RAPE"!!!

Posted in: Anime fan treks the globe with cardboard cutout wolf bride See in context

I would like to see this guy go out and try and date any respectable woman while holding that anime cutout. I like anime and manga myself but there is a fine line where I cut all of that nonsense out. I would not or do not spend my hard earn cash buying semi naked or half naked figurines or plaster my room with girl anime pics and photos. There is "real women" for that. :P Some people just take it a bit too far and make us people who are into anime and manga look like weirdos. But on another note there is weirdos out there. Just go to Akiba and you will see a lot of them. Some of them look right out creepy :(

sad that company have spend money on these machines for a bad habbit that not everyone has. This is a BAD HABBIT that all us (NON SMOKERS) have to suffer. I find it funny that in order to accomodate these "smokers" we and companies have to re-adjust things in order to make it easier for them. Shouldn't it be the other way around?!?! Plus also smokers cost company thousands of dollars a year from all their "smoke break" while the other non smokers are at work slaving away. I am with Zurcronium smokers will always stink!!! Even if the air is filtered in the rooms the smoke will stick to their clothes and then we will all have to smell these stinky people. I hate it specially in the morning walking to the station and on the my way to work on the trains.

make the kid walk around the streets of tokyo wearing a sign saying "I am the idiot that tweeted that fake post" Let's see how funny it feels to him when he does that. As for the parents they also need to be held accountable for this morons actions. Although it doesn't deserve an angry mob goings nuts at the kid of his family something should be done in order to make it known to people that this type of sick joke IS NOT ON!!!

The funny thing is that it really depends what the guy or person looks or looked like. If he was a model looking type, handsome that all mothers would go crazy over then it would not have been such a big deal. Either that or a foreigner being blond blue eyes , (the type kids get fascinated by and mothers go gaga over) then again it would not have been a problem. Probably this innocent guy looked a bit strange and this is what made the girl report it. This is the problems around the world, looks matter for every outcome. Pretty sad world we live in.

I mostly proud to have dual citizenship. Of course I am also proud of both the nations I lived my life at. Both where I was born and lived most my life. But saying this it does not mean I am one of those fanatical patriotic people who would go so far as to say I would die for my country. I feel very proud to be accepted by 2 nations and would never do anything to embarrass them. Saying this I would never consider becoming a Japanese citizen as it would mean losing my other 2 nationalities and gaining absolutely nothing worth bragging about.

Posted in: Which is considered worse, holding your chopsticks the wrong way, or eating noisily? See in context

Eating loudly is up there with eating with your mouth full and talking with your mouth full for me. And it seems Japanese are "KING" when it comes to this. How in your right mind (having common sense) would you not think it's disgusting and distatefull to do these things in front of people, it boggles the mind sometimes. I don't care what culture you come from that is just disgusting when you are slurping on something and it goes all over yourself and other people near you as well when chewing loudly like a cow and talking with your mouth full while bits and pieces go flying to you or near you. YUCK As for holding your chopsticks the wrong way that is just silly people would get offenced by that. I have seen so many japanese hold spoons, pens, pencils the wrong way and even westerners. So why should it offend you?!? It makes no sense. If it does easy solution, just don't look at them.

Posted in: Girl hit by train may have committed suicide due to bullying, say police See in context

Dad should get the school to get the kids find them kids who bullied this little girl and make them held accountable for their kids actions as well as the kids. If the school is being difficult then go to the media and make yourself heard. Don't let this case get "hushed" like a lot of the other cases of bullying in Japan. People should stand up and make the people held accountable, even if they are still kids they need to learn that bullying is NOT TOLLERATED in this world. Let's see how these bullies feel when they are shamed in public. And to all you people saying ohh that is bad and think of what it would do to their minds and feelings in the future, what about the kid that killed herself because of their abuse. At least these bullies will have a life still to live and be able to change their ways. The other kid won't.

Posted in: What shocks Japanese country folk about city life See in context

Tokyo is way ti expensive!!! Why would anyone want to move there!?!? I live around Saitama area and it's cheap and although it's considered the country side where I live. It's not that far (about 1 hr to tokyo) via train. Still there is not really much of a need to go to Tokyo. I can find most things that are in Tokyo in Saitama area. I think people trying to come to a BIG city from the countryside should look at places not "IN" Tokyo but close to them, It would be cheaper and more convenient in the long run.

Posted in: Schoolboy pitching sensation chooses Ham Fighters over MLB See in context

Pretty bad move if you asked me. For one like a lot of people said earlier, he will make a lot less money. I think what made him decide to stay in Japan was a lot of guilt / brain washing from his parents, coaches and other people around him. That he should stay in Japan and represent Japan as he would be a national hero and so on. That he should be a patriot and do Japan a BIG favor by staying and playing in the J-League. Also the pressure from his parents about not being able to see him (control his life and money) from here and so on. Either all of that or just too scared to make a change (especially to a English speaking country) without mummy and daddy to be there to take care of his needs. Too bad buddy you just lost an opportunity of a lifetime. Hopefully you will be OK enough to make it to the MLB at a later time and will not be kicking yourself if it does not happen for you.

Posted in: AKB48 may represent Japanese culture, but underage girls in sexy clothing … to me it’s basically legal child porn. See in context

Here here!!! About time someone in Japan spoke out of what millions of us normal people think this AKB and similar girl groups really are. And make Japan (parents specially) open their eyes and see for what it really is. Who in their right mind would want a bunch of untalented, ditsy, not sexy , under age girls represent their country by pransing around in mini-skirts and having fans (like old 35 year old otakus still living with their parents having their whole room filled with mini girl figurines or 40 year old salary men) ughhhh gross.

but "Speed" sometimes it's annoying watching a film with subs. Specially if the fill is action packed and many people speaking very fast throughout the movie. I can understand the people's frustrations and I would also be pretty Peed off if this happened. I guess the only 2 things they could do is like you said is watch it with subs and or learn some English. But this does not solve the problem of Disney hiring "El chepo" guys to dubb the movie > <

PICTURES PLEASE!!! I'd like to see how HOT this lady was to make this guy give up his career and landing him a harassment charge on his criminal record. Pretty strange for a dude just to go nuts and start kissing a girl for no apparent reason. But then again this is Japan so anything could happen. As a few people said here earlier this story is a little strange, more info into the story would be nice.

Posted in: Man killed in hit-and-run in Ibaraki See in context

I think it's both parties fault. The man for going out and getting drunk and not walking safely home and the driver for being a nut job and not stopping to check on the man. I mean would this accident have happened if the man was safely walking and looking at incoming cars (most probably not). Also this person who just hit and run is a tool, because now instead of maybe it being taken as an accident, they will be charge with manslaughter. Anyways RIP old man guess you went out in a happy way , by having enjoying yourself while out drinking with friends :)

Posted in: Man dies after being hit by train in Tokyo See in context

Nothing new here!!! This seems a norm in Japan. People often get drunk of their nut after work and then accidents or stupid things happen to them. I don't get it why self control doesn't sink in their brains. I mean if you know your feeling tipsy, stop and have some water, then continue on your drunkeness :P I guess some people just can't use their brains or have no self control. I see and smell too many of these drunk guys on the trains specially at late friday nights on the trains. Like someone said it is a good idea to put barriers on but who would be paying for these to be installed..... yes the tax payer!!!! hmmmm.....

Posted in: Japan beats Oman 2-1 to move closer to World Cup berth See in context

Japan won but overall very disappointing game. They were lucky enough not to lose 3-2. (Omar missed 2 goal chances on the first half). Plus compared to other games Japan seemed real sluggish and tired very early in the game. In the end a win is a win and good points for the table. They are unreachable now I think. Unless they lose the next few matches. Australia will need to pull their socks up and get some wins behind them if they want to stay clear from coming 3rd on the table. Come on AUSSIE BOYS you can do it. I can't wait to watch the Japan - Australia game next year :P should be a good one.
