It's like watching a horror movie, you know that something horrible is about to happen but you can't stop watching.

I wish Noda took to the streets Gangnam style. That'd be awesome.

Unbelievable. 54years to learn from their mistakes, but they're gonna just go and do it again.

Posted in: Are you proud of being whatever your nationality is, or don't you think about it one way or another? See in context

I tire of national pride in my home country and in Japan. I hate it more in Japan though because it is over the stupidest of things (and it is said over and over again), but ultimately it is the same stupid narcissism.

While I think Japan is going to go bankrupt regardless, Abe would bring it a hell of a lot sooner.

With the rats having left ship, now would be a good time to support Noda.

I think the most important one is

"seeing a problem or mistake and not doing anything about it".

Posted in: Ishihara calls for nuclear-armed Japan See in context

The problem with Japan having nukes is that they would use them. I'm not talking about your average Joe on the street. I'm talking about the ambitious, arrogant, power hungry politicians we see in the upcoming election. During the Fukushima crisis we saw that they would rather use the situation to better their own interests than work together to help the Japanese people. These types of people shouldn't have this kind of power. In fact they shouldn't be in power at all.

Posted in: 9 lawmakers quit DPJ as dissent over election grows See in context

Nine lawmakers quit the ruling Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) on Thursday and Friday in protest over Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda’s decision

That's pathetic.

How on earth is removing your backpack saving room? Where are you gonna put it? Once holding it gets too heavy your gonna just put it down on the floor anyway. What a stupid rule. Seriously.

I just hope we don't stick to the one method of power generation. You know what they say " Don't put all your eggs in the one basket."

Just as everyone converts to solar power, a super-volcano erupts blanketing the world in darkness....shortly by an asteroid impact.

Posted in: A month after download law, consumers spending less on music: survey See in context

I'd like to buy the music directly from the artist. Alternatively, if they provided their music freely like open source software, people could donate money via their official website (using flattr). This will never happen though cos, the record companies won't get any money.

The anime industry aren't much better though. I remember when I first came to Japan, I was excited at the thought of finally being able to buy my favourite anime series for a reasonable price. I think the first dvd i found was 7000yen, it didn't get much better either. ATX was ridiculously expensive too. It's a shame, because I really wanted to support them.

Credence Clear Water are the new Nostradamus. I'm sure they wrote this especially for Ishihara.

I see a bad one arising. I see trouble on the way. I see earthquakes and lightnin'. I see bad times today.

Don't go around tonight, Well, it's bound to take your life, There's a bad one on the rise.

I hear hurricanes ablowing. I know the end is coming soon. I fear rivers over flowing. I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

Don't go around tonight, Well, it's bound to take your life, There's a bad one on the rise. Ganbatte Nippon!

The opposition should be ashamed of themselves. Instead of playing game of thrones they should get on and do some friggin work for a change.

Selfish, conceited MoFos playing politics.

Posted in: Japan's radiation monitoring unreliable: Greenpeace See in context

I hate to imagine how much Fukushima produce has been consumed since the accident. I still can't believe the government didn't put a blanket ban on all food from the area. This should have been a case of guilty until proven innocent.

This is getting ridiculous. No wonder Japanese people aren't having kids. If the connection goes deeper than this matchmaking incidence than sure investigate it, but don't string the guy up by the balls for hooking two people up. That's just ridiculous.

What she is really saying is that Japanese women are lazy. Most women consider not working after marriage as their god given right (even if they have no children).

OK, just trolling there. I don't really think all Japanese women are lazy, but now I've got your attention (and probably your wrath). Don't you think that "I quit because I'm getting married" is the lamest excuse for leaving your job ever?

Posted in: Gov't considers distributing iodine tablets to homes near nuclear plants See in context

Well now we know how long it takes them to react to a disaster.

........ unless they are preparing for the collapse of fuel pool #4. If that happens though, I think they will need something more than iodine tablets to help them.

Posted in: DPJ faces drubbing in looming election See in context

I expect a knee jerk reaction, but it is pretty scary if it goes ahead. The leader of the opposition- Abe (yes, the same PM who quit a few years ago). His plans seem to mirror Ishihara's http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/10/04/us-japan-china-islands-idUSBRE89307E20121004 Many people scoff at the idea that this could blow out into war, but wars happen and they have to start somewhere. I don't want to see a war here.

Posted in: Law making it illegal to download pirated music, videos goes into effect See in context

Someone in government must be very please with themselves. It would have taken a truckload of cash to get this passed through parliament with next to no discussion. They kept it pretty quiet too, so almost no media coverage until it was too late. It's no secret who is paying their salary though, just look at the affected media types. It's plain as day.
