Posted in: 2020 Olympic logo designer asks Suntory to withdraw 8 designs See in context

I personally have no problem with the logo and when I first saw it I thought it was very striking. It's such a simple design that I've even drafted similar logos in the past, and the font used is one that is very popular with Japanese designers. A standard practice would be to upload your design to a Google image search to check for any matches, and although similar I don't think the Belgian Theatre designer can really win a plagiarism claim here. The other so called rip-offs will come up with any logo when compared to a Google search. Sanoi is a very respected designer and rightly so.

Posted in: McDonald's to let parents, kids cook burgers at its stores See in context

I've seen this going on in my local McD's in Osaka for about a year now. Guess they were piloting the scheme. Mother and daughter(s) are dressed up in the uniform, serve customers, work in the back and then get a meal, gift, and photos - Kidzania style. Guided by a genki McD's member of staff. Was wondering what that was all about.

A large number of full and part time workers do not get any public holidays off. Another day off for the lucky ones.

Isn't the annular eclipse on 21st (JST)? I guess it'll still be 20th in other parts of the world.
