I'm no supporter of China in any way...as a nation it suppresses it citizen's invaded Tibet etc...but Japan grabbed these islands when China was defeated in 1895 by Japan as 'spoils of war' read the history of the Sino-Japanese War it's very interesting especially the reason it was initiated...they belong to China bottom line! China invaded and took over Tibet in the same manner in 1950 and should by right's allow Tibet it's freedom but won't do so...politics as usual!

Protesting peacefully is OK...damaging property is not OK and helps to destroy any positive effect on the local population! I have seen the statue and it is beautifully done and represents the bygone tradition of whaling in Japan...it is as much a part of ancient Japanese culture as running Bison off a cliff in the American west by the "First People" in the US...i'm sure this German think's highly of the Native Americans...but they were all about survival as were the whalers in old Japan and running herds of Bison off of cliffs [Buffalo jumps] was inhumane period...but people and families had to survive as did the Japanese whalers.

Posted in: The name's Bond, James Bond: 007 marks 50 years See in context
"Fleming took the name for his character from that of the American ornithologist James Bond, a Caribbean bird expert and author of the definitive field guide Birds of the West Indies; Fleming, a keen birdwatcher himself, had a copy of Bond's guide and he later explained to the ornithologist's wife that "It struck me that this brief, unromantic, Anglo-Saxon and yet very masculine name was just what I needed, and so a second James Bond was born". He further explained that: When I wrote the first one in 1953, I wanted Bond to be an extremely dull, uninteresting man to whom things happened; I wanted him to be a blunt instrument ... when I was casting around for a name for my protagonist I thought by God, (James Bond) is the dullest name I ever heard. —Ian Fleming, The New Yorker, 21 April 1962. On another occasion Fleming said: "I wanted the simplest, dullest, plainest-sounding name I could find, 'James Bond' was much better than something more interesting, like 'Peregrine Carruthers'. Exotic things would happen to and around him, but he would be a neutral figure—an anonymous, blunt instrument wielded by a government department.

@MIKXkansai..."Weirder that a 59 year old can overpower a 36 year old apparently so easily"...a blade is a huge advantage and 59 is not that old...if the guy was in a rage the victim had no chance. Most likely he was explosively attacked and was unable to deal w/the violence and died...Japan is relatively peaceful compared to the US...here he would have been badly cut...in Japan the guy died.
