The street violence has escalated with the youth gangs in Osaka over the last few years at night (my guess is the dropouts and early 20s). Hence the gaijin last year beat to death about a few miles from there in Abeno. Saturday nights (their big night) you can actually hear them outside start to raise hell after midnight. They are usually in packs of 5-10... on bicycles, trashing everything in sight, spitting, smoking, outside conbinis...move to the next on and terrorize another... the screaming really picks up at 3AM when the booze hits them and then the grand finale around this time. They have moved on to homeless murders. I have no idea how the Osaka cops can't get a handle on this with stakeouts/surveillance when I have seen it for years outside my door. Oh I called the cops alright... and they told me to chill...

I still think Japan needs Jay & Silent Bob for a laugh. Anyway cool story.
