I'm fluent in Japanese and even I struggle every time trying to understand all the 'official' documents that the municipality/tax office/etc. sends lol.

Olympics are just 'round the corner so these low numbers are no surprise.

Posted in: LGBTQ groups, supporters rally in Tokyo for equal rights See in context

Walked past it coincidentally and it honestly looked more just like an outside club party (with a couple 'no-mask' people) rather than a rally demanding equal rights....

The difference is the Russian government encourages their hackers to commit crimes against western nations.

Good news.

As long as they use the leave to actually help out the mother and take care of the baby!

Posted in: More than 10 million in Japan have received COVID-19 vaccinations so far See in context

I heard Sumida-ku has started sending out vaccination ~~coupons~~ to those over 16 y/o (ex-colleague of mine received theirs). Vaccinations will apparently begin sometime in July.

Meanwhile in places like Shinagawa, everything is still 未定.

Posted in: Japanese Olympic athletes start getting vaccinated See in context

vaccination of young athletes would not affect distribution to the general population, including the elderly and medical workers.

Why not then, you know, vaccinate other groups of young people? Just pick a random young group, vaccinate them. Surely wouldn't affect any other distribution, not like there's much to affect.

Not surprising, considering the amount of small gigs and celeb parties that have been held recently.

Hoping it all eases down again.

Ah yes.... Gov't to decide on Thursday to make an announcement on Friday to extend the SoE from June to another month, with the idea of having another meeting to discuss another possible extension.

Completely useless extension.

Shops, trains, streets, offices are packed, evidently nobody really cares.
