Grim. Two old codgers, probably mates at one stage, then in most likely a drunken quarrel things got way, way out of hand.
Unfortunately for the residents, most nursing homes don't allow alcohol.

What does anyone upskirt for? I don't get it. What's the excitement for those who do?
It's a taboo fetish, people get a kick out of some things just BECAUSE you are not meant to do it. The fear of getting caught is the excitement not the subject themselves.
He's too young to be Japanese weirdo, for that profile it should be middle age salaryman not young guy.
People don't just start being weirdos in their 40s. It's just that the escalation has usually reached a level where they were more likely to get caught by then. This guy just escalated earlier. It's very common for rapists and murders to to have a history of more minor crimes like voyeurism, stealing underwear or hurting animals.

A lot people by land in Malaysia especially KL like it's a lottery ticket. Just hope some developer will need the land and pay big to get it. There was a half built highway ramp near my old apartment where the land owner kept pushing for more money to sell the land until they eventually just built the ramp on the other side of the highway.

Some additional information from Japanese News: The guy is huge, a good foot over the taxi driver. The driver stood no chance. He also took off the drivers glasses and threw them before punching him. The taxi driver actually tried to follow the guy on foot but got hit again. The guy will probably not face prison time, it is rare to issue prison time for assault.

Knew a guy who used to get taxi's about once a week knowing fine he had 500yen on him. He would be super drunk anyway, claim he had no money or way of getting money and the taxi driver could take the 500yen or nothing. He did this a whole bunch of times until one driver just drove him to the police station and got him banged up. The supervisor for our Uni bailed him out with no charges. He was also really aggressive but I don't think he ever punched anyone.

Japan has raised the age of consent to sixteen BUT it has a separate law which states that anyone over 20 involved with some under if the age gap is more than five years is committing an abuse of power crime. The person above was in his 30's so no matter how you look at it he is seen (legally) as using his power (age and money) to persuade the victim to consent to his actions.
People may not agree with these laws but they are still the law. If you believe someone who is maybe 18 or 19 might be able to make a decision on their own many people may agree with you. But, they still should have been able to make the decision to wait the year or two for them have their fun legally.

What bar is operating at 5:55 AM?
Oh man, loads of places are open at that time. I live in a fairly rural city and my morning run takes me through the drinking area. There are at least three places guaranteed to be open and about four more that usually are, every freaking day! Also, that doesn't include any of the host/hostess bars that will stay open until the customers leave.

Just to be clear, charges being dropped is not the same as false claims. Sexual assault often happens when two people are alone making consent very hard to prove either way. The charges being dropped does not mean he didn't do it nor does it mean he did. He did however allow himself to be put in a position where he could have been accused. In my opinion if you are famous (or not) one night stands are very risky and you might want to stick to traditional relationships with dating etc being a good base for consent although even this is not enough to 100% prove consent.

The reason it states possible murder charge is because they need enough evidence before they can charge. Although it may seem obvious who the killer was, video evidence of someone leaving a hotel and the head being found at the residence does not amount to a murder charge. I'd say they are pressing for a confession but it may be difficult to get one given Runa's apparent detachment from society.

Some additional information from Japanese language media:
The grandfather was incredibly candid and added the following information. Runa rarely attended school when she was young and had issues communicating with people. She did enjoy cosplaying and met Ura at a cosplaying event. Ura liked to cosplay as a female and Runa became a friend him without realizing he was a man. Runa apparently had a deep mistrust of men and avoiding speaking to them. At some point they ended up staying in the same hotel and during the night Ura allegedly sexually assaulted Runa. Destressed and angered by this she told her parents what had happened. The family then decided to hatch a plan to kill and behead the victim with Runa and her father planning and buying items for the murder. The mother has now also been accused of being a coconspirator.

He later reported the crime to a "police box".

The first thing that comes to mind when you read this article is "Seems legit, shes just checking if her bf is cheating which in some cases he is." The reality, as I have experienced it, is girls accusing you of sleeping with every female in your contact list/e-mail/facebook/ etc including 50 year old co-workers with families. "This girl is hot, did you sleep with her?" "This girl is pregnant, is it yours?" Japanese girls take jealousy to a new level.... (NB: Purely anecdotal)

Posted in: Elementary school principal arrested for possession of stimulants See in context
The news as always reported it as a stimulant, so we can not know what it was. What's interesting about this case to me was how he got caught. He was arrested on school grounds a strange choice by the police. If he had been a 'person of concern' for some time I would imagine he would have been arrested at his home to avoid scaring the kids or causing a scene. The fact that he told them he bought the drugs from a man in Koichi suggests they hadn't followed his from its source. Did he bring the drugs onto school property? Did someone spot them and report them? Was he caught taking the substance? In Japan, if the drug is in your system its enough to be charged so its not necessary for him to have had anything on him but the question still remains, why arrest him at school?
