Posted in: Brazilian tennis player apologizes for racist gesture in Japan See in context

The Brazilian player clearly made a racist gesture, which can be easily recognized even by ten year old kids, during the professional game and someone still says he BELIEVES the player wasn't being racist or is not a racist. I can't find any logic in his argue. I really can't.

And no one was physically hurt so let it go? REALLY?

Posted in: Take cover - but where? Japanese helpless over N Korean threat See in context

@HonestDictator Wrong comparison. The misslie was launched toward the sky not toward JP. It flew over above 700km and how was it deemed to be aiming at JP? Where else direction can they shoot their fireworks then? That high altitude space area doesn't even belong to Japan.

Also, no one is naive here enough to believe that NK is the only country pointing a loaded weapon to their neighbors. Someone is being here in far east Asia all the way from across the Pacific to aim thier fully loaded guns to whoever around.

I'm not a NK sympathizer but don't want to be a brainwashed hypocrite either.

Westerners will never be able to understand Japanese thoughts anyway no matter how long they live in Japanese, even with their Japanese partners because they are not real Japanese. I'm not sure how their offsprings would turn out to be though.

I've believed US has contributed to the peace of world and protection of human right in other countries but it is not easy to cast out doubts US could also be a big threat to the peace of world. NK might be sounding belligerent and 'challenging' but they didn't invade other countries in a full scale at least. Who is talking about being morality?

Guys, when the car has to be parked on shoulder of highway, always get out of the car and stay there until the issue is sorted out, day or night. To your surprise, this kind of accident happens all the time and experts advice never stay in the car when it is broken down on the highway. If you, or your family are really reluctant to leave the car because it's dark, raining, cold outside, good luck then.

@Reckless

You got it wrong. When they say their potential partners have to have their house ready, it usually, and mostly, means he needs be cable of paying off the house himself. It is not like 'He doesn't have his stuffs in order.' as you speculated.

I also second many others' idea that he made the right decision.

Time has changed and people also are changed. The traditions itself also can't stay the same as it used to be anymore. You might have to ask young Japanese whether they take it seriously or not first. If they don't anymore, then that's it. No matter how many Westerners have a outrageous fantasy in samurai swords or not. It is totally up to them.

@Strangerland I agree with you on ' I drink to get drunk.' part. Lots of people blew their caps when I mentioned that there is not something delicious about beer or any alcoholic beverages for me and tried to educate me about the various taste or difference in them. I tried lots of beers from different countries and I drink their own beer whenever I travel there or travel on their national airliners. They were still all similar in my opinion.

But people would feel better if you kindly look back and tell them that you're gonna put back the seat a bit. People all know that the seats are designed to lean back but also understand the economy class is narrow and tight so mutual consideration is much needed than other classes. One good smile would ease lots of tension there.
