That "English gentleman" image is false. The UK is probably the most violent place in Europe.

Who do you think you are kidding Mr. Kippling?

Number one must be Ukraine followed by Turkey, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Greece, Moldova, Montenegro, Cyprus and Serbia.

There are still many true gentlemen in England. However, there are some idiots! I do not argue that there are some idiots!

When I was walking home one night somebody threw a full bottle of beer (glass beer bottle) out of a car going about 50 miles per hour at me. It went past me right in front of my face and smashed into a wall. It was so close to possibly killing me. My crime, walking home by myself with my hands in pocket. Complete insanity by a complete stranger. Why? I was in a nice area too!

If you choose to come to Japan you must adapt to Japan. Japan should not adapt to you! I am not Buddhist but when I die I will have a Buddhist funeral and burial. If you don’t like the way it is then move country. Nobody was forced to come to Japan. Not recently anyway.

Are there not more important things to worry about? A name is just a name. I couldn't care less if my partner takes my name, I take my partners name or we both have different names. It simply will not affect the quality of my life!

My inlaws are retired and grow all their own fruit, vedge, rice and green tea. Enough for the whole family with a little to spare. All organic and delicious. It will be quite a shcok to the system and bank balance when they stop growing things.

Pardons for criminals. Biden and Trump should both be ashamed. This is how a dictatorship is run. America just gets worse and worse.

Posted in: Many countries, including China and Japan, grappling with shrinking and aging populations See in context

The articles are many because of the way the population is being reduced, with less people being economically active while the percentage of people no longer active increases. If nothing is done this is just a disaster slowly developing.

Japan is overpopulated. The disaster was letting the population reach 128 million in the first place. There may be some pain to be had but it will be better in the long run with a lower population.

A lower population has many benefits but there are hardly any news articles about this because bad news gets more views.

I hope that Japan doesn't go down the mass immigration route. Just look at the mess America and the U.K. is in!

Quo Primum, “Porn should be banned?”

Do you really think that banning porn would make any difference? It might even get more popular. What is banned becomes more appealing. Porn in one form or another has been around for centuries and it isn’t going anywhere!

If you have a family then you can make Christmas special wherever you are! Of course, the first thing you need to do is take the day off. I always take Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off. Then nice food, Christmas music and a few drinks with the family and it becomes a special day. I think it would be more difficult to have a good Christmas if you were alone but it is possible.
