What's going on?

Their songs do bring back memories from the good old 90s...
It's an uphill battle for them now, times have changed and the JPop scene is not what it used to be. They really have to strategize if they want to regain their teenage-days popularity.

TOKYOGAS: That is the most brilliant solution to this issue.
That will bring those proud-ass organizers back to reality; after all, competitive eating (no matter how weird that sounds) would not be as popular as it is now without that thin Japanese guy who can eat tons of hotdogs.
No matter how they put it, Kobayashi is the face of competitive eating.
PUKEY2: Competitive eating is not an issue of world hunger or starvation; it's like football and the scarcity of grassland. But Kobayashi serving as hunger ambassador would probably be an ironic but perhaps effective campaign.

If Yukie Nakama looks sinister, Erika Sawajiri is the Devil!
I became a big fan because unlike most J-actresses who can only be either cute or bloody melodramatic, this girl is convincingly versatile...Ring 0. TRICK. Gokusen. G@me. Shinobi. Mr.Brain (episode 6, which justifies her looking evil).
Quite a long way from her 90s idol days.

Posted in: How long to learn Japanese? See in context
I agree with some views here that instead of outsourcing nurses with exceedingly stringent restrictions, Japan should start aggressively promoting nursing to the younger generation.
I study Japanese at leisure, so I can't really say for sure how long it would take me to reach a specific level. Filipinos have a natural talent for languages -- most of us use English, Filipino, and their local dialect, so learning another language is a cinch.
So for us, the main barrier to the language requirement is the timeframe. Exposure is the best, and only, way to learn and master a language. Kanji is pretty easy to remember, and personally, it's much more efficient to read than kana.

Why, when Japan has been touted a fashion capital, do they still make their celebrities wear the tackiest things in the entire universe?
The women don't look happy at all!

Japanese schoolgirls are cool because they discovered the secret to raising the hems of their skirts, something that has never been seen in any other country.

No, Ueto hasn't done gravure yet... She has released photobooks, but none in bikini so far, dammit. She does seem to have a really nice figure, though.
If you want the pinnacle of gravure photobooks, it would either be those of Takako Uehara or Erika Sawajiri.
