Posted in: Toyota to pay record $32.4 mil in extra fines to U.S. gov't See in context

@koriyamaboy

But GM was only fined $1 million for the same footdragging. I think that is the point. Why such a disparity? Please read the article in full jamal2609.

So how many accidents was caused by the faulty windshield wipers? And how many people died from the faulty windshield wipers?

@pamalot

My 70 year old aunt sent me the link to the Youtube clip. I didn't look at it for a couple of days because I didn't think much of it, but after I watched it, I was pretty amazed what that couple could do and had a total new view regarding pole dancing.

Anyone interested in broadening his/her horizon, go to Youtube and search for "Pole Dancing Like You've Never Seen It". It's a couple pole dancing. Sorry it's not sleazy.

Julian Assange had no legal obligation or responsibility to protect U.S. classified information and therefore he did nothing illegal.

Is possession of stolen property illegal?

@miamum

"She does speak good English, and although I am not sure of her family circumstances in Okinawa, moving to a country you have never been to before with a young child is not a decision to take lightly, I am sure she has thought long and hard about it and decided her son has better opportunities over there"

The lady visited her husband's hometown for his funeral in 2008. She and the baby also stayed for almost a year with her in-laws in Maryville, TN, from Feb 2009 to Jan 2010 so I am sure she understands what it is like to live in Maryville, TN.

all love hotels should be closed. They are bad for health.

You would be surprised how many married couples use love hotels to get away from the family and spend some quality time together.

Of all the countries on this planet, the one with the best chance to influence the action of NK is the PRC. However, I do not believe the PRC has complete control of NK and I am certain NK and the PRC do not trust each other completely. I believe the PRC does not want a nuclear armed NK because at least one of the NK nuclear missles would be aimed at Beijing. Afterall, how could anyone or country trust or control a megalomania like Kim Jong-Il?

OMG. Like they will go around and just blow up countries each and every year because they have nothing else to do. Listen you right-wingers. The rule is this! Use a nuke and then die by a a hundred nukes. It is really a useless weapon as it can never be used unless you like suicide.

Selling its nuclear weapons program to another country is not the same as dropping a nuke on another country. Learn to read and comprehend.

If you think NK is a problem now, wait till it has successfully developed its nuclear weapons program. Presently, NK has nothing of significant value to export to generate hard currency; however, a nuclear weapons program would be a different story and that is why I do not believe NK would give up its pursuit of nuclear weapons. You can have as much negotiations as you want and give NK as much aids as it wants, but in the end, NK will continue to work on its nuclear weapons program.

I do not believe NK would have any second thoughts about exporting its nuclear weapons program to any country willing to pay for it. Imagine a nuclear armed Venezuela, Burma, etc.

Talk and appease NK all you want now, the problem would just get bigger and more difficult to resolve later.

I wonder if the war was worthwhile...

Read a little history about Cambodia between 1975 and 1979 when it was ruled under Khmer Rouge and about S-21 (Tuol Sleng) and you can decide for yourself if it was worth it to fight the KR.

talking2U is on the right track. And let's be clear about this. If it flops and there are losses, everyone involved should also have their share of liability, refunding part or all of their "share" and even getting other jobs to pay back the losses if necessary.

If you want to share in the profits, you should be willing to share in the losses. However, I don't think that is what talking2U has in mind.
