Two years passed. Still J Gov is preparing for the pandemic. When they move forward? They are dragging this until next election. They are just making excuses for save their parliament spot. Speaking about human rights. They are considering only Japanese point of view. No one here to talk about human rights of foreigners.

People seem to forget that even with this "milder" version too many end up in hospitals and ICUs.

These goes especially for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated folks.

Mate, Please read the BBC articles, South Africa ended their peak and UK daily cases decreasing. Omicron will be the endemic.

@Iron Lad,

You are just trying to act like a youngster. But seems like a pension guy with island mindset. I guess you don't have any travel history.

Lets talk about the topic.

Fully Vaccinated

PCR Negative result within 72 hours before the flight

PCR test on Arrival

Private transportation to the residence

14 Days Quarantine

What else do they looking for?

Japan will realize when labour shortage going high. Atleast they have to allow fully vaccinate foriegners let in and two weeks own residence quarantine is must.

@Mike,

Next main intake is on April, lot of students are waiting about 2 years so far. There are lot of dependents of foreigners waiting for enter here. I did a research regarding this on social media and hoping the government will come up with a some sort of relax rules in February. But for business travelers and tourists will not be able to enter until May-June I guess.

@Rob Nads,

Please explain the point of such restrictions given that Omicron is already prevalent and spreading rapidly throughout Japan?

It's only for those entering Japan.

No need to worry about the current omicron status. Look at hospitalizations and mortality rates. Completely different compared to Delta. Find out more about the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations for omicron infections. Omicron is a disease that goes away in 3 days and delta takes 5-6 days.

@Sven Asai,

so why don’t they just stay where they think they belong to but still insist in traveling (and included further virus spreading)?

Do you think they are travelling for fun? And without a negative test result nobody can travel either.

If you want to keep the omicron away seal the country. Nobody can enter or Leave. Letting only Japanese are into the country is useless as virus doesn't read your nationality. But Japanese has their right to enter their own country which I didn't see as a bad move. My opinion is let the fully vaccinated people are in with mandatory two weeks quarantine at home. designated countries should stay at government provided facility as the officials say.

This is about South Africa,

"The number of infections fell by roughly 30 percent to just under 90,000 for the week ending Dec. 25, down from some 127,000 in the prior corresponding period, government data show. The number of hospital admissions has also been significantly lower over the past 1½ weeks."

@Iron Lad,

According to Buddhism, only the Lord Buddha is worshiped. Worshiping God is another topic. If you talk about corona increase with unnecessary fear, isn't the accumulation of people like this a reason for corona increase?
