Posted in: Car crash victim dies after paramedics, police fail to notice her See in context

Someone has already mentioned it here, but I will amplify the statement of checking the floorboards of crashed vehicles, because I as a former law enforcement officer in most instances that’s where we would find small children and infants after an accident.

Great looking up until she speaks. Sounds like an old truck driver, but still cute the same.

Posted in: U.S. military helicopter crashes at Okinawa base See in context

This article is word for word with other media outlets with the exception of

many residents have complained about base-related crime, noise and accidents.

The US makes up only 3% of the population on Okinawa and contributes far less to the crime rate on the island according to http://www.nippon.com/en/in-depth/a00501/

Accidents happen, but it always seems to be reckless when the US has a mishap in the minds of the local host.

Sighclops, you forgot number 4. Get caught up in some affair with a married comedian or sports figure and the all but classic number 5. Does an almost nude book when she feels her cuteness is fading.

Glad he was arrested. Now I can see the convenience store cashier getting irritated with me when I squeeze and fold all bread items before I decided to purchase them.

Posted in: Tokyo American Club lowers entrance fees See in context

I once thought of joining this club and looked into the social perks as well as business benefits of membership. Once I found out about the fees, I quickly lost interest. A friend of mine, who was a member, said his fees were paid by his cooperation and it was an incentive to keep him in Japan. The prestige of saying you are a member is the only benefit. There are less expensive alternatives. Besides, I like to mingle with down to earth people.

What has manual transmission to do with it? over 70 they need eye sight tests, reaction tests, attention tests and such to determine the drivers skill.

There are some 20 30 40... year olds that can use the same test!

I believe someone has already mentioned it; this bird landed on a ship and hitched a ride. I recall in my old Navy days an owl hitched a ride on our ship in Korea, was fed by the sailors onboard and got off in Hawaii.

@ The Chronic

Suicide is the cowards way out. No matter how bad the problem is ... always a way out besides splatting yourself. Always some to talk to. No sympathy here.

Quite ironic to tote the name “Chronic” when you have no idea what chronic depression is. Look it up!

Got to agree with USNinJapan2, Devi was a gold digging hostess who met the king/ president of Indonesia in the club she was working. She marries into his harem of wives, and then passes herself off as blueblood royalty. HG may be one step higher than her on the pyramid.

Posted in: Livedoor founder Horie paroled after 21 months See in context

I remember this guy from his heyday here in Japan. What a jerk, he was and still is the epitome of a computer geek and was constantly antagonizing the old guard. Unfortunately he brought down quite a few bright young entrepreneurs in the process. The window dressing scheme exposed his bad side and him and others paid for it. Of course there was the one gold digger talent that went after him, but broke loose once she found out he was corrupt and would eventually go down.

@Patric Spohn

No they will not! This crime did not happen in the US. They will be discharged from the Navy once they return to the US. It is not standard practice to jail someone again after time served elsewhere. Educate yourself and look up Double Jeopardy.

The government in Japan is like a recycle shop, same faces returning over and over. It's no wonder the economy here is in shambles. Time to inject some new faces into the government and move forward with the rest of the economic giants.
