The GOP will block everything, even common sense laws like closing background loopholes.

Yet you had a block party when the Democrats won the presidency and Congress. Why? I thought you said the country would change for the better because ALL decisions would be made by Democrats.

I don't want to go to Japan anymore. I am going to Egypt where I will be welcomed and entertained. and they will be grateful for every dollar I spend there ............. JAPAN? NO THANK YOU!!!

Tired of people outside of Japan jumping on here to bash it then people living here pat them on the back for it. Remimds me of the NZ person jumping on here 2 years ago saying NZ is a far superior country because of lockdowns and border closures and Japanese people were living life as usual. People are bandwagoners depending on the way the media or other posters sway them.

Kitamura started to pick up trash on his own three years ago while a high school student and became excited when he found items from foreign countries washed up.

I remember years back driving around Ishigaki Island to look for a quiet beach. When I got to one without people on it, I noticed tons of trash strewn across it thinking some pigs had a wild party ruining a beautiful beach. I was surprised to find all of the garbage was from Taiwan/Korea judging by the language or addresses on them. I picked up some cool buoys though.

The part I hate hearing the most is that parents were prevented from going in as they were getting sick of the police's inaction. The guy was left in there to kill at will for almost an hour. Police would have to shoot me to prevent me from going in to save my kids and their schoolmates.

No words can describe losing a family member in such circumstance s. My thoughts are with his children losing 2 parents days apart.

Days before this, the guy said he wanted to shoot up a school to several people on Instagram. As this has happened before in other shootings worldwide, why did no one do anything then?

Another popular loser on Twitter investigated one of the fathers of the victims. He found out that he supported Kyle Rittenhouse so called the murder of his child karma.

This is the sick society we live in folks and the toxicity of social media.

$55 Billion gone to Ukraine. 130,000 schools K-12 within the U.S. That $55 Billion would give about $300,000 to $400,000 per school for added security. Also you could open up tons and tons of jobs for the homeless spread out throughout the country as well as trained veterans who are coming home to a country finding difficulty to find a job. Politicians sure did work quick to throw money at Ukraine which is already being supported by many other countries. How about our country?

Go figure, Abbot.

Last 2 major mass murders, before this one, in the U.S. occurred in 2 highly liberal and very strict gun States of New York and California. In fact, the one in California happened in Sacramento just a mere 2 blocks away from the building where all of the lawmakers that make the strict gun laws are working. As soon as the perpetrators backgrounds were reported, the media packed up and left within 24 hours. The governor of California and DA of L.A. both gave their statements on gun control after the Texas mass killing yesterday. They are both however responsible for catching and releasing criminals in California on a daily basis.

Thanks for proving my point. Democrats will have to go it alone, because Republicans don't care.

Cool beans! So what kind of change have they made since taking the Oval Office and Congress with mass shootings continuing to happen? How has the U.S. improved? Less mean tweets? Wow!

There's been no national push for mental health, just more security guards.

Why the sudden change of tune on this angle:

This is why right wing terrorism is the biggest threat to the US.

When are they going to bring back the good old eye-for-an-eye punishments?

I was told here that that sort of thing was inhumane and these murderers should be treated with the utmost respect with a bed, shower and 3 meals a day.

He’ll be traumatized daily for the rest of his life, US prison is no holiday camp.

Nope, high profile criminals are coddled in U.S. prisons if regarded to being in imminent danger which he will be. Let the families decide what is wrong and what isn't: being killed while grocery shopping or being killed for killing 10 innocent people.

The poor, manipulated, weak-minded young man who committed this atrocity will no doubt be convicted of this horrible tragedy.

Only possibility is life sentence in NY. So he will be able to have a place to sleep, grab 3 meals and a hot shower for the rest of his life as it traumatizes the families for perhaps the rest of their lives. Justice served?

I don't even know what is an order and what is a law here in Japan. It seems like things get enforced here for a month or 2 then the media, government or police moves on to other things. Now I am heading to the supermarket that still hands me free plastic bags after I pay.

Yes, you bring up examples but why not bring up the Waukesha Christmas Parade massacre or NYC subway shooting or the many innercity attacks on Asian people? Is "hate crime" defined only by which skin color pulls the trigger?

The result of politicizing everything.

You could tell that to this person

result of the 4th branch of government and its media's efforts to undermine US systems and also to divide the country to get a polarized nation to fight even harder amongst themselves.

Believe it or not like in other countries, you can easily sponsor yourself in Japan if you are rich or invests a great amount. A colleague of mine from China who owns several language schools and restaurants here just sponsors himself.

It is a big no-no to compliment anything Japanese here. You have to follow the live here but hate anything Japan crowd.
