@rarereason @tokyojoe unless you’ve given birth to a child save your judgement. it’s neither cowardice or selfishness, it’s postpartum depression. It’s extremely common and not taken nearly as seriously as it should be. PPD hits you like a bus and once you’re in it, it’s hard to see your way out without help. Reporting stories like this in the national news doesn’t help the problem, it only makes mothers more afraid to seek help when they need it.
