Yes, spend more than anyone has ever seen spent on the ceremony. Stimulate the economy, make a lot of people happy to work, and, let's hope, give a couple happiness forever.

Is it true that in Japan a voting card with the voter's name and address is mailed to the voter's registered residence and that card must be presented at the voting area in order to receive a ballot in Japan? If the answer is yes, then that is equivalent to absentee voting in the USA. Is it true that a relative can take the recently deceased grandmother's voting card to the voting area and vote for her? If the answer is yes, then that is equivalent to mail-in ballots. In addition, are there any illegal aliens in Japan? If the answer is yes, then that is equivalent to mail-in ballots. According to law, a voter must be a US citizen to vote. People with green cards cannot vote, but they will be able to vote with mail-in ballots that may have been completed by another person.

Just because a person hates the president doesn't me that person has the right to illegal elect the opponent.

It has already been shown that the virus last a very short time on any surface. There is no need to sanitize the kitchen, toilet, etc. after every use especially if only the family uses it. So, what is the problem? Sanitation workers always wear gloves. Issue the type of gloves that are very difficult to tear or puncture. It would be better to sanitize the steering wheel and gloves after every stop.

People leave the futons out in the sunshine everyday because it dries any sweat and sanitizes them. Why discard the paper mask after one use? Leave it in the 40 C. sunshine. It is safe to reuse.

A reversal of foreign policy means another plane load of cash to Iran (he approved it,) a wonderful relationship with our friend, China (anybody seen Hunter lately?), and questionable behaviors at public events (no need to go there!) Mr. Biden needs to learn speak for more than 10 minutes without notes and a teleprompter. He also really needs to know that he has to get approval for all "his" decisions from Ms. Veep-to-be and Ms. Pelosi before he presents them to the public. Maybe it is true, "Behind every successful man, there is a more successful woman (women.)

Posted in: Trump's show of federal force sparking alarm in cities See in context

To understand the situation in Seattle, NY, and other major cities, the question is: Who paid for the post office buildings, income tax office, police office, mayors' offices, health department offices, etc. in JAPAN? Answer: The tax payers, many of whom are now senior citizens who expect service and protection. If the governors of the prefectures refused to stop a mob from vandalizing, burning, or destroying these buildings in major cities, does Abe have the responsibility to send in any forces to protect the buildings or does he just look the other way and call it "another demonstration for the betterment of society" or "Summer of love?"

What if the mob attacks a reader's house in the affluent district in Tokyo or another major city after the police department has been defunded? Does that person still call 110 and hear nobody can respond to the call or the danger? It is the responsibility of the reader to defend his/her family and property with a weapon?

The citizens of Japan are very fortunate. They still have respectful protests with no violence, etc. The "What if" question still remains? Let's hope decency and respect for law enforcement continue here. Time will tell.

"Mo'Kelly" is an offense nickname. His name is Morris. "Mo" was used in the South and implied "boy" another offensive name now. Mr. Kelly needs to use Morris Kelly. Yes, "Big Mo" is the nickname for the US battleship Missouri, an affectionate nickname given to the ship by sailors who served on it. Stone should be old enough to know that the word "negro" is the original word used to describe human beings (slaves to today) whose ancestral history is in Africa and has gone through several changes, finally ending with "Black." However, in the USA today there is the "United Negro College Fund which provides scholarships for black students and general scholarship funds for 37 private historically black colleges and universities." It should change its name and use "Black students" and "Black colleges and universities" to whom scholarships are provided. That begs the question, is the UNCF a discriminatory organization?

If the medical personnel are not happy with their pay or lack of "bonus, " strike. Norms have to go. So, how is the amount of the incentive or performance decided for medical personnel? Less deaths, more positive evaluations by the patients and family members. And, what about the gas station attendants - increased sales, customer loyalty, or drinks by waitresses at night clubs? If you want your doctors and nurses, waitresses, gas attendants, and TEACHERS to be happy, increase the monthly salary.

Posted in: Striking medical workers warn pay reduction jeopardizes patient care See in context

The concept of a "bonus" pay is archaic and inappropriate to modern business and labor practices. It needs to be abandoned and replaced with an hourly, weekly, monthly, or yearly income so that employee knows exactly how much income is earned and sent to the bank account.

Posted in: Should Japanese schools stop making kids write book reports? See in context

Everyone in any program (Phd or lower) is using Google and other methods to write book reports and research papers. The person only needs to change the word order and use a Thesaurus to pass the computer program that checks the originality of the document. Here is the solution. The student brings one sheet of notes that are reviewed by the supervising teacher to a designated area. The student has one hour to write, and at the end of the hour, it is given to the teacher. Book reports, research papers, etc. are supposed to show what the student learned. In the real world today, nobody can be expected to know everything that is available on the net. Medical doctors can't even keep up with all the new drugs. The real skill is how to search the net for information, then apply it to the student's or society's situation. Book reports differ by countries. The purpose is not to ask what happened in the story, but how does this apply to modern society, the student's life, or some other question. If the teacher is interested is having the student show proficiency in one of the languages used in Japan, then that is another goal.

The men need to stay out of hot water baths and keep the testicles cool by not wearing tight fitting underpants or pants. Sitting in the typical 38 C. water for extended time actually weakens or reduces the sperm count in the testicles. Only the strongest sperm can swim far enough to conceive, so don't make them weaker. Take a warm shower, wash, and rinse.

The best way is to admit yourself to home isolation therapy, HIT. Not the one the government wants, everyone has had enough of that. Turn off Facebook, etc. because nobody really cares about your opinion, and when the talking heads on tv programs start reporting on crime, protests of any kind, or politicians who always have the right answer, change the channel to the weather channel but anything other than the above. It takes about 4 days of the regime, but it works. After that, a free mind matters. You now have one. Good luck, and don't cheat.

In the words of my good friend, Vice-President Biden, "Come on, man, stand up and be counted." So, behind every successful man is a very strong woman. Joan of Arc, Catherine the Great of Russia, Hôjô Tokimasa (married to Minamoto Yoritomo,) Ichiyo Higuchi (5000 yen,) Eleanor Roosevelt who was actually president in his last term, and possibly Hillary Clinton, in many people's opinion. The sister's position may be the reason the NK military continues to praise and applaud Kim's photo ops. “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. It is 2021 for Tokyo or never? Change the calendar and ask, "What happens in 2024" if there is another pandemic? Change the Olympic calendar to 2025 in Paris. Paris would be smart to not build elaborate new facilities so that it doesn't lose the anticipated revenue. Japan would have been smarter to use it old facilities, spread out the venues and share the wealth though out the nation rather than concentrating on Tokyo.

The small dog barks constantly and the big dog barks once. When a government points a finger at another government, there are three fingers pointing back. Those governments should send a big thank you to the people of the USA because the USA has given them the ability to complain. Look in the mirror, and when it says PERFECT, let the world know. The USA is NOT perfect, but it is far better than many foreign countries that allow the government to have people "disappear," go to prisons or work camps for rehabilitation, or starve to death.

Perhaps, it is the reliance on English or French as in the United Nations. Good luck.

Let's take an unannounced multiple choice survey of parents of school age children by Smartphone or email. It is unannounced because if it is announced, parents will talk to other parents before answering.

Choose only one answer for each question.

Why do schools start in April? a. I don't know. b. the weather and sports schedules are very important. c. because my parents did. d. because children want to see beautiful flowers.

Is it a good idea to change the start date to the first week in September to match other major countries? a. I don't know. b. YES c. NO

A former ALT in Japan and famous teacher with 50 years of experience signs off on the email as: "Keep growing, keep learning, keep changing." Japan needs to change in this very small, but significant, way.

I need ANA and other carriers to Japan from foreign countries to lower the prices from sfo to nrt and selected other countries. There is no tracking, etc. Just subsidize the air carriers. Also, nobody seems to mention that duty free is refunded in the stores if the purchase is sufficient and the traveler can show the passport. A person doesn't have to take the receipts to the airport like in Europe. Immediate refund, but at the store where the merchandise was purchased. Of course, the government doesn't want tourists to know about the savings on one hand but on the other hand it wants more tourists. Car rentals, Japan Rail Passes and city bus passes need to be available in Japan at a JR station. Let some experienced tourists express their opinions
