A trillion dollar air defence and they can't detect blimps intruding on their air space.
Lockheed or Raytheon or whoever fleeced the taxpayer for that trillion dollar radar system has some explaining to do.
The Biden administration proving once again that they are trying to protect the US by being hard on countries like China, Russia, and NK actively trying to destroy or weaken the US. The trump administration capitulated and broke laws to appease those same countries! Apples and Oranges!

I commented recently on this topic.
The horrors of murder of a child by "strangers", appears to create more hell on earth than does the sadistic killing of a child by those who have a duty of love and care - the parents.
In japan, I have said countless times that family members mothers and fathers are a greater risk to children than some random stranger. It is not that easy for a stranger to kidnap a child and have enough time to harm them before getting caught.
However, women (mothers) more likely abuse than men (fathers) because of the ease of access. Men get most of the attention because of the brutality involved.
It is no different than criminal experts, psychologists, investigators, and profilers claiming that people are more likely to be murdered by someone that they know.

Smart move! Anyone that buys Chinese tech must realize that the CCP is always running a "man in the middle" hack. All information goes from sender first to China second, and to receiver or final destination last (chinese apps, social media, drone footage, wireless security camera footage, and software updates).
For hardware, they allow well known exploits to be built into their products, so they can be accessed fairly easily and also claim deniability because it such a common problem (5G network equipment).
It is easier to deny than a specific unique backdoor that others would claim as malicious intent on China's apart.

When the economy sucks, people save more or find ways to save more. If the government wants people to spend more, then force companies to pay more.
A healthy economy is when people are spending. You either need to make everything cheaper or raise salaries and wages. Those are the only two ways that I know works.
Anything else tends to hurt everyone eventually.
What do they say about people who do the same thing over and over but expect different results?

On one street near my place, 6 houses near each other started renovations around the same time at the beginning of the year. And 2 others houses on that street was torn down and rebuilt last year. Another house between two of the renovations is currently being torn down. I do not know what is going on that street. It is like every one won the lottery, some public health risk happened, or they know something major is going to happen, so they are preparing to cash in.
Back to the story:
Construction, industrial cleanup, and demolition is traditional ran by the Yakuza, gangster wannabes, bozoku, & etc. It is one of the few legal businesses that they use as a front, and it employees a lot of people who fall threw the educational cracks or have an immigration issue. That means lots of cheap unskilled labor doing work no one else wants.
They have multiple reasons to keep the cheap impermanent housing racket going!
In fact, a lot of the Japanese businesses are based on this idea of "impermanence," so everybody needs to pay again.

What Trump and Haley said is perfectly legitimate.
If an enemy aircraft breaches your airspace, and it doesn't heed or follow instructions to leave immediately (which a balloon obviously can't do) ... you shoot it down.
And if you've read the article, you already know that the balloon is roughly the size of two school buses. Plus, it's a balloon.
The likelihood of any debris causing any injury or serious damage is slight -- especially if it's shot down over an area that's not densely populated.
