It seriously hurts my head to know that there are people as dumb as "Get Real". Pretty much the only people who haven't left Detroit are the gangs that use that place as their haven. I for one thank the NRA for helping to protect my rights to carry a firearm. Especially if I ever had to go to God forsaken Detroit! Why should law abiding people not be able to protect themselves? You clearly have 0% knowledge on what you are speaking on.

No surprise here. The Republicans want the US to remain behind most of the world in terms of care of its people, so long as it means a quick cash grab through their vested interests.

We don't want that crap! Next we will have taxes like Britain! Learn to take care of yourself and don't rely on others so much. Our hospitals already service people for free, they are called "charity cases". What works in Europe (well nothing seems to be working over there) won't magically work in another place of the world.

We had to learn about this in school when we were like 9. The book was called "Farewell to Manzanar". A famous Japanese-American guy named "Larry Shinoda" actually lived in the Manzanar camp (which isn't talked about in the book). Later on after getting out of the camp he went on to help create 3 of my favorite classic muscle cars, the 1963 Corvette, 1968 Corvette, & the 1970 Mustang Boss.

OnniyamaJun. 10, 2013 - 07:07PM JST The Canadians actually outdo the Yanks in friendly war exercises that they hold. With outdated equipment even.

If by friendly war exercises you mean be super polite to your enemy and beg them to not kick the crap out of you.

We need to keep helping out our great Japanese friends as much as we can. Hopefully our military can train other branches with the Japanese also.Good to see France and Japan working on military equipment also! The only thing I would complain about is Japan not having any nuclear bombs, we have so many I think we should hook them up.

Posted in: Japan and the United States have a security alliance and that this is a decisive difference from the U.S.-China relationship. I can't see the U.S. moving the base for the Seventh Fleet from Japan to S See in context

Well, well Shinzo, I guess chinese are not really eager to lose their sovereignty, being occupied by a foreign army and having to sign a SOFA agreement protecting US soldiers/rapist/murderer's living on chinese soil.

I guess chinese are somewhat more "free" than japanese will ever be.

If USA had bases on China's land we would have to rebuild the whole country. We all know how bad their construction is! Also our soldiers would be at a high risk of cancer from all of the smog you guys have. The only way the Chinese people will be more "free" is if USA decided to kick the crap out of your government and set up bases in that dump of a country you call home. Don't worry though! We will just let you guys fail within the next 10 years and leave your government in place like Russia and just isolate you like Iran or North Korea.

$200-330 a day?!?!? I could go to a country worth going to for that much. Funny the money they get will be used for weapons that will be used against you in the future. You give them money and they build bombs to try and bargain for food. Their food has to be worst than the Chinese. Expect cyanide not salt on your food. Also I could see them trying to hack all of your computers and phones if you dare take them with you.

i read abe's bio he studied in calif.. so abe san if you happen to read japantoday and saw this msg :) may i ask you to do the following:

announce that: we japan can take on china! therefore, we are not interested in dragging usa into this, that is no need to invoke article 9 or whatever we are ready! but alas, as i said in my first post above in this thread that japan is no match for china.

But Americans WANT to kick the crap out of China. It's not up to Japan if we help or not, even though I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Americans love to see you guys cower in fear when we are mentioned.

Japan has deep concern about the trends in U.S.-China relations. Japan’s concern about U.S. interests in China in a way that is unfavorable to Japan and the continuance of the U.S.-Japan alliance. The U.S. is evaluating the growing disparity between Japan’s relative economic and absolute demographic decline and China’s growing economic, political, and diplomatic power, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. In other words, a U.S. probably wants to move toward China’s desire for a new power relationship in the region and most likely U.S. would take steps to gradually downgrade U.S.-Japan military alliance. The Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands crisis might seem tailor-made for U.S.

Japan should have nothing to be worried about, once you're a friend of America you're ALWAYS a friend of America. Why else would we be getting Japan in our free trade talks and they'll probably join? They are our friends and we will help our friends in need. Americans hate the Chinese, they are snakes in the grass and aren't to be trusted. The only reason we do business with them is because the world views China as modern day slaves,a country of 1.4 billion peons.

A 10-bullet limit on magazines might help to limit the number of people killed in mass shootings, but it probably wouldn’t do much to reduce total murders.

That wouldn't work, changing a magazine to a fresh one with more bullets is a quick process. Heck I can field strip a Beretta M9 and put it back together in 26 seconds.

Seeing people not from America talk about guns is hilarious. As a person who lives by Chicago I can tell you gun laws don't work. It's common for there to be 20+ shootings/murders a weekend. The funny thing is a VAST VAST majority of the guns are illegal and the people obtained them from breaking into houses and stealing them, then they get passed around like a blunt.Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation but is always top 5 for most murders. It's not the common citizen commiting these murders, but gang members. All gun laws do restrict people who follow the laws. If you look at all the murders it's just black/latino gang members wiping out other black/latino gang members. Then as soon as one mass shooting happens they parade that around for gun control, even though one weekend in Chicago has more murders than that one mass shooting.Another funny thing is when people say "well why do you need an AR-15 with 30 rounds?" Maybe to protect ourselves and our families from criminals with the same weapon. It's like the Fast & Furious operation which was set up by our government to give weapons to Mexico's cartels (which failed miserably). They sent high capacity weapons to cartels "to track them" but didn't. Then these weapons travel back up to America and kill our citizens. So why should I not have the same weapon that came here illegally by an illegal transaction done by our government?Don't bring a knife to a gun fight and don't bring a pistol to a rifle fight. What they want to do is strip us of our rights so we are forced to rely on them and then they can make the government bigger. They strip you little by little and the next thing you know USA is some Euro country with no rights and the government is constantly telling us what to do.
